Default Psychosis

Hallo.

I am currently receiving treatment for psychosis. They strongly suspect either Psychotic Depression or Schizoaffective Disorder, although the specific diagnosis isn't definite at this point, although the psychosis has been established and verified.

Does anybody else suffer from psychosis? Thought this would be a place for us to discuss it.

Hello Z.

I've not suffered from a psychosis myself, and I don't know anything much about it, so I can't help much with any discussions about this subject but I hope you're getting all the help and support you need at this time.

I ? have psychosis. I say ? because they(mental health professionals) seem to be inconsistent about it. On one hand I have what is classified as a non psychotic diagnosis although people with the diagnosis can experience shortish bouts of psychosis. On the other hand I am on a depot atypical antipsychotic and phrases like "has psychotic symptoms, "has difficulties with perception" have been bandied about.
Have definitely got paranoia and had weird thoughts/delusions?(listed as part of my psych history). Also have some negative type symptoms like low drive and motivation ,poor goal directed behaviour.

Finally there are some cognitive issues that may or may not be related to the mental health problems but would come under the heading of learning difficulties. These are undiagnosed but definitely present and include poor executive functioning(organising, planning, decision making), poor (visuo)spatial intelligence/diagrammatic reasoning and slow processing speed.
