Oooh I love Myers Briggs tests! I'm an INTJ and identify with the characteristics very very strongly. I've learnt so much more about myself through reading about my personality type.

This is a slightly different test than the one I took some time ago. On the other test I got INTP. I think I agree with the 'feeling' part now though. Last time I was also 100% introverted, though I don't think that's changed.

Your personality type is INFP!

Introverted (I) 93% Extraverted (E) 7%
Intuitive (N) 73% Sensing (S) 27%
Feeling (F) 75% Thinking (T) 25%
Perceiving (P) 86% Judging (J) 14%

I'm going to take the one I took before to see what I get.

And now this one is giving me this result;

ISFP

Introvert(100%) Sensing(25%) Feeling(50%) Perceiving(44)%

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (100%)
You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (25%)
You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (50%)
You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (44%)

Lets just say that I'm INFP, that's the one I agree with the most.

Different to the results I usually get on these tests I think, although I could easily be remembering that incorrectly. Wiki definition seems fairly accurate, although I`m not sure about the Feeling verus Thinking,I`d probably say I`m more 50-50 on that but hey ho:

I – Introversion preferred to extraversion: ISFJs tend to be quiet and reserved. They generally prefer interacting with a few close friends rather than a wide circle of acquaintances, and they expend energy in social situations (whereas extraverts gain energy).[7]
S – Sensing preferred to intuition: ISFJs tend to be more concrete than abstract. They focus their attention on the details rather than the big picture, and on immediate realities rather than future possibilities.[8]
F – Feeling preferred to thinking: ISFJs tend to value personal considerations above objective criteria. When making decisions, they often give more weight to social implications than to logic.[9]
J – Judgment preferred to perception: ISFJs tend to plan their activities and make decisions early. They derive a sense of control through predictability

How do you know I'm the not the first person up on the table at parties? It's how I like to kick off an SAUK meet

I guess I've just heard a lot of people on here call themselves introverted and say they need alone time constantly, even from people close to them. I don't really feel I need much alone time as long as I'm with people I feel completely comfortable with. So thought perhaps that makes me less introverted in a way. Also I don't always feel socialising, as long as it goes well, takes that much out of me.

^ I don't think I'm really an introvert, I think I'm an extrovert that fiendish SA has bundled into a cellar and locked in. That's pretty nonsensical I suppose: I am who I am, not who I think I could be.

Sensing (S) 50% Intuitive (N) 50%
Thinking (T) 50% Feeling (F) 50%
Judging (J) 64% Perceiving (P) 36%

Even thought 2 of the results are 50%

And the 2nd one

ISFJ
Introvert(78%) Sensing(25%) Feeling(38%) Judging(44%)
You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (78%)
You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (25%)
You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (38%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (44%)

I think that's what I got last time I did one of these too.

I'd always say I was an introvert but I do have extrovert tendencies. I express my feelings openly but only with people I get a feeling I can trust.

It is interesting to see if you get the same type code when taking your cognitive functions into consideration: http://www.keys2cognition.com/explore.htm

I never get INFJ on the above test! INFP on the otherhand, always...

My recent results -

Cognitive Process Level of Development (Preference, Skill and Frequency of Use)
extraverted Sensing (Se) ********************** *(22.2)

introverted Sensing (Si) **************************************** *(40.6)

extraverted Intuiting (Ne) ************************************ *(36.4)

introverted Intuiting (Ni) ***************************** *(29.2)

extraverted Thinking (Te) ********************* *(21.3)

introverted Thinking (Ti) ***************** *(17)

extraverted Feeling (Fe) ****************************** *(30.5)

introverted Feeling (Fi) ****************************************** *(42.6)

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INFP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation***8217;s dynamics.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENFP, or ISFJ

Part-time INTJ?

I have a whole pinboard for INTJs here.

ISFJ
Pretty sure it was something different the last time, possibly INFJ.

What's the point really if it's different every time, and what does knowing this achieve? Am I meant to do something with this information?

^Some people identify with their type more closely than others. I learnt a lot about myself through reading about INTJs. In fact, when I meet another INTJ offline we tend to get along like long lost buddies.

Some people I imagine are half of one type and half another, or some other combination.

What does it achieve? You can learn how your brain works to some extent, which is really useful.

I'm an ENFP, though not sure why it went for Extraverted over Introverted when they're both 50%.

I'd probably agree with that in some way. Though I hope I'm not out of the SAUK club for being labelled an extravert? :O

Idont trust them because SA will always affect the answers you give, If I wasnt so shy I would be completley different answers so dosnt give an accurate reading.

SA isn't a personality trait, so you're not going to get a real result unless you answer the questions as if you don't have SA.

I usually get ENTP on these tests anyway (INTP sometimes, but always on the edge of ENTP even if I answer it with maximum SA-ness).

^^ But shyness is a part of my personality, whether I like it or not. I don't want to be shy and feel if I wasn't I could potentially be an extrovert, but the fact is I am.

Shyness and SA are different things, though. Shyness is a personality trait, and SA is not (it's more of an inhibitor of personality). They can exist together (and I'd guess that SA is probably more common in very shy people), but it's definitely possible to have SA without being shy, and a lot people with SA probably don't realise that, and thus assume that they must be shy.

E.g. this question:
Quote:
- I am a mixer and mingler at parties.
- I prefer one-on-one conversations.
- I'm really in between.
Obviously most of us will automatically go for the second answer, but is that because we genuinely prefer one-on-one conversations, or do we just choose them because they are (usually, at least) less anxiety-provoking? If the latter, then it's hardly a personality trait.

Definitely true, I've met quite a few SAers who aren't shy. The post I was responding to mentioned both SA and shyness interchangeably so I was responding regarding the shyness rather than the SA.
I used to hope that if I dealt with my SA I would no longer be shy, but even though I have dealt with many of the issues with my SA the shyness seems to be mine for the keeping unfortunately. Although I hope these days people wouldn't use that horrible expression of 'painfully shy' towards me like they used to.

I see what you mean. If it words it like that it would cause me problems too. I'd rather go to a party than read a book if I knew it would go well, but reading a book is much less likely to cause social embarrassment!
