Weird Crap you do!?!

Reet hello good peeps. Basically a thread dedicated to weird things / quirks you have, can be anxiety related.

Heres a couple from me;
-Our house has a roof garden in the middle of town where I smoke my cigs. I always listen to my i-pod and most of the time i'll be either hopping about in circles or air guitaring or both. When at night time i'll also break out robot dance moves to Dubstep

-I regularly switch on a hair dryer and warm myself for usually 20 minutes for no reason except that I like the heat and the noise it makes. At winter times this will also include my toes and hands. My mother gives me 'ooooook' face when she sees me doing this and i'll pretend nothing happened and become hostile until she leaves and continues.

i play with my hair lots, used to have long hair so it was easier, but i still got the habit even though its shorter now. so these days i tend to just grab my hair, continously ruffling it all the time.

no matter what i need to do in the bathroom, i always take what feels like an hour longer to actually do what i intended, just daydream all the time.

i know ridiculous amounts of pointless crap, my pub quiz knowledge is epic, however when it comes to actual work i suck extreme ass


edit: i can eat sweets/chocolate/cake in biblical amounts, it doesnt fill me up but it tastes good, i go through it like.... like..... well... like candy

You'd be surprised as to how many ppl do the same things as you do and therefore probably is'nt as weird as you think it is.

I bet some others do what i do and keep their shrines of Justin Bieber in the living room rather in the bedroom because Justin told me he wants to be able to see the tv.

I havnt had time to do this in a while but I like gaming into intoxication of lack of sleep, preferably 48+ hours. Ontop of that use real intoxication with beer! So its double intoxication and pure joy doing something I love.

Been a long time since last been able to do that.

I wiggle my toes alot in bed when awake. I think I do this because I sort my thoughts in my head before I go to sleep. While im thinking it wiggles my toes to my thoughts. I do it in my morning sometimes too due to same reasons. Sort my thoughts before I get out of bed. (I actually usually fidget/wiggle some part of my body when im thinking/awake.. Be it tapping foot/hands/whatever. For some reason all the energy goes through my body down to my toes when in bed. =p)

I have a whole ritual for my tea that some people find weird - I have to rinse the cup out first with hot water to warm it up, then leave it to stew while I make a rollup, then I add lots of milk and microwave it for 1 minute, and then I drink it using a big spoon

I also like talking and singing to our kitty cats and I always sing along to my mp3 player on my way to/from volunteering (as long as nobody is in earshot).

I can walk in a wide circle for an hour. Possibly an hour and a half.

I've been doing this forever. Years ago we had a coffee table in the middle of the room and before school I would walk around it. There's no table now but I love my circle. I do it downstairs where there's enough room, when I'm restless. If I'm thinking about things, and I can't sit down and keep still, I have my circle. I often listen to my iPod while going around and around, and this is when I go round for an hour. Usually I do this in the morning when I'm the only one up, or when everybody is out. It feels weird listening to music this way if somebody's in the kitchen or living room, even just thinking in my circle because someone tries copying me and after about a minute they get either bored or dizzy. If someone steps in the way, too, I say 'Get out of my circle!'

I've always suspected this is extremely weird and I've never told anyone before, the only people who know are my parents, brother and now boyfriend. And now you guys.

If you ever wonder where HRG is, you can say 'She's probably going round in a circle.'





Other crazy shit, I sometimes talk telepathically to a teddy, if I'm thinking about something and a bear is near me, I look at him and shake my head, like we're both tutting.

I've got a tiny bit of OCD about making sure that everything in my flat is unplugged before I leave. And the longer I'm going to be away for the worse it is, popping to the shop just requires a bit of cursory glance, going away on holiday - bit of a mare. And another thing, I can't do this if anyone else is there in my apartment - just incase they a) think I'm a bit weird or b) turn something back on without me noticing.

I only use certian cutlery. The metal has to be really thin and streamlined. Rather than thick with rounded square edges to the handles..they have to be thin with a sharp square edge. Also..forks have to have three small prongs (all thin) and spoons..the concave bit that goes in ya mouth has to be of a specific oval shape and the metal here has to be really thin.

Well... I used to do that, but each time after a while with each hairdryer I buy they end up trying to get me electrocuted or the thing explodes in my face so I gave up and use a fan instead to dry my hair, not ideal but I know that I won't be flung across the room if the fan decides to pack up. Me and hairdryers just don't get on

I used to kind of do that when I was younger. I ran in circles! Now I pace back and forth or go walking aimlessly outside with my ipod on, thinking about stuff / daydreaming.

I talk in a silly high pitch voice, saying childish things to my parent's dog and make funny growling noises.
If I see an attractive female human specimen when out and about sometimes I quietly mimic the growling/woofing sound of my parent's dog when he gets excited.
Every time I see a dog I attempt to communicate to it with a "woof" verbally or mentally.
Sometimes I walk or dance around my flat in a circle.
Occasionally I rescue insects, worms and snails.
I have a weird OCD of picking dead skin off my body, I think "wow a bit of me" and spend a few seconds or minutes studying a sample of my dead skin/scab between my fingers.

Probably loads more I'm unable to think of at the moment, I've embarrassed myself enough now anyway. SA makes me do (strange) things!

If I have an appointment for something I book an early appointment and arrive early because I don't like to walk into a room full of people sitting down.

I plan which route I'll take before I go somewhere and I also have a plan b if the original route can't be followed. I plan my route so that I avoid very busy roads as much as possible.

If I feel stressed I like to go to library because there's a calm atmosphere inside the building. I also like to go for a walk near water e.g. a lake.

When I leave home to go somewhere I have to leave at an exact time on the dot. For example I'll go out at 10:00, 10:15, 10:30 or 11:00. I can't go at 5 past or 20 past.

If I'm eating and I have e.g. mashed potato and fish fingers I'll have two mouthfulls of potato and a bite of a fish finger.

When my ears are cold and I'm in familiar surroundings or on my own I will fold and fiddle with them until they are no longer cold. This usually occurs when lying in bed. This may go some way to explain why they are so big.

Thought of another one. When I'm in bed and fully awake but don't want to get up I pretend i'm some soft of microscopic lave in a cocoon and wrap myself up in the duvet.

I'm a bit preoccupied with cleaning stuff. All day I'm visualising washing things around me, eg. mentally soaping up cars, pressure washing the moss off rooves, ultrasonically cleaning telephones and TV remotes, grit-blasting dirty brickwork and concrete, shampooing carpets, cleaning windows and hosing down muddy cows. The irony is I can't often clean things in the real world to my own fantasy standards so don't do them at all; eg. the car hasn't been washed in 8 months cos I don't have access to a hose.

Another: after rinsing off the washing-up (very thoroughly) I don't like the idea of water not draining off everything, so build an elaborate pile out of the crockery where everything will drain because it's at the right angle.

Also can only drink coffee and tea when it's hot enough so put it in the microwave for 10s every 5 mins. Barking...

I do this too. Sometimes things are so messy and decayed that there's a real beauty to it that I wouldn't want to interfere with, but often I have this niggling sense that I have to clean up the city. I make mental notes of certain things, as though i'm going to come back to that spot another time to scrub the grime off buildings, hammer back the letters that have fallen off the sign above the newsagents, polish the bus windows, pick up stray newspapers...

I have never wanted to hose down a muddy cow though
