He was only 59 apparently.
It makes you think how short life is.

Yes so did I. I'm fairly sure I remember him talking about his dysfunctional relationship with eating, tho not an actual eating disorder or something like that.

My flat is now too warm after weeks of being too cold. I've not done anything with the heating and the outside temperature hasn't changed considerably - what's going on?

Despite the general haze of minor negativity, I'm starting to realise that for the first time in a long time I'm actually making some progress socially and getting closer to where I want to be. Feels pretty nice.

Why is the search function on this forum so utterly shit?

(If it actually worked this would have been in the random questions thread)

I hope that my recent state of muddle headedness is just due to being depressed rather than something more serious.

I've move on into the old fart group in life

We had our works xmas do tonight, it was only a meal but we had to go for a meal because the apprentice is 17 and we couldn't go to the casino like we have done for the last few years.

We had to meet at half 7..he spent pretty much 99% of his time on his phone from about 8..and by 9 announced he had to go because he was going out. The other side of the table was 2 women in their 40's pointing out they couldn't wait to get home and get in their pj's

I mean I've always been anti social but inside I knew going home and getting in my pj's sounded about 50x more appealing than going on elsewhere...I've defo hit middle age I've never found going out clubbing/boozing remotely appealing frankly but when you side with the older group of people (despite being the youngest in the group by nearly 10 years barring the apprentice) ..it hits home your about 1 step away from afternoon bingo sessions

(disclaimer - I'm home and in my jedi dressing gown)

If you pay to see a psychiatrist, are they likely to give you a diagnosis? I think I'd probably be willing to spend a few hundred quid just to have someone tell me what they think's wrong with me, because it's obvious that no one else is either willing or able.

Yes they can. It's a shame people are having to resort to paying though.

Yeah, this is where I'm at too . It's frustrating being fobbed off all the time. I do have a psychiatrist diagnosis of Social Anxiety disorder but everything else is just ignored.

One of my oldest friends msg'd me earlier, her partner who is a nurse has ended up in A&E himself with severe headache/pain and high blood pressure, apparently he's had to have a CT scan and all sorts.
Hope he's alright. Does make you stop and think - he's about the same age as me. 40 ish.

It happens sadly, people are not emotionally there or some other reason you might never know. Other people will come along.

I went for a walk this morning through the nature reserve and a man and woman jogged past me. The man held back right near me while the woman went ahead and I thought he was going to say something, but he just turned towards a tree and started peeing. He was literally about ten feet away from me on the path, acting like it was completely normal. When he finished he just ran ahead to catch up with the woman. What a world.

I guess I was referring to a lack of any friends in the 'real' world (although I'm not for a moment saying that online acquaintances aren't a godsend to a lot of lonely folk).

A neighbour recently shared a post on Facebook that read:

"Everyone has a friend during each stage of life. But only lucky ones have the same friend in all stages of life."

As someone who hasn't had a friend during each stage of life (as much as I've tried to be friendly) I can't help thinking that I must be a really horrible person to have struggled to achieve something that everyone else supposedly takes for granted.

Facebook is becoming rather good at making me feel even more of a total misfit than I already feel

Reminds me of when I was a teenager, I was in the park when I saw a couple walking and the woman just pulled down her leggings and relieved herself on the path!

On a different tangent, that's one heck of a pizza Where can I get one of those?

^ sadly we can't choose our parents, don't feel bad over what someone else thinks of you though.
Some people are impossible to please.

I'm wondering how to fix my headphones, one of the over-ear padded bits has come off. I think the rubber ring around it is supposed to go into the plastic headphone bit with the speaker in, but I can't see a way to reattach it. I could glue the padded bit on, but that's not how it was before and I'd probably permanently ruin them. They are good headphones and were pretty cheap but I'd feel bad just replacing them.
