Tea/Coffee reduces iron absorption
Tea/coffee/Green tea apparently the stuff in it reduces iron absorption by up to 80%. (polyphenols)

It's amazing the lengths people will go to in order to get their iron fix:

Re: Tea/Coffee reduces iron absorption
@biscuts - An excellent picture. I didn't see that one coming! That certainly made me chuckle!
I'm not much of a tea-drinker to be honest, but I have to admit I'm partial to a coffee - to the point I accept I probably have a minor caffeine addiction. If I'm at home, I'll have a couple of cups a day. One mid-morning and usually one mid-afternoon if I can be bothered to make it. At work? Oh dear...! Five or six a day is pretty average... |
