I should be thinking about my work, but the most I can do is go back and read Jack London

Why should you be thinking about your work??

That's a waste of useful thinking time which could be put to better use pondering life's little mysteries, such as wondering why when I put five pairs of socks into the washing machine do ten odd socks come out or who is the prick who decided that clothes had to be ironed?

(Yes, you can tell I'm doing laundry...)

Thinking about buying a food dehydrator, as dehydrated outdoors meals from the likes of Mountain House are way too expensive and don't offer enough variety.

he scared me by saying he wanted it really tight, to ensure the thesis is workable, and even if my argumentation was good, he wasn't looking for argumentation, he wants a trajectory of how the thesis would proceed -- arguments can come in later -- but he wants the structure etc. After the meeting I went home and wailed

I got into the trap of reading too much and thinking about this shit far too late. but I can't even do work today because I am exhausted -- met a friend (who dragged along 2 other mutual friends without telling me! I mean, I need to be mentally prepared for company, and unexpected company, even if I know them, scares me) plus dragged some heavy-ish groceries back home. I have to stop my feckless reading and begin thinking

Have you tried lugging hydrated grub up a mountain?

Water weighs a lot you know.

Plus I can make my own meals.

Sounds like you're giving yourself a hard time. Writing a thesis is always a mad rush towards the end (I've done two of them) and it always works out fine. We all leave it late. You're not doing it right if you don't You'll be surprised how much progress you can make in a couple of days.

It's normal to get stressed but take your mind off it for now and do something relaxing. It'll help you recover from that surprise from your friend today. You didn't say anything bad happened so it sounds like you handled that well!

I haven't eaten any meat since 5th March. I thought I'd try going without for a month, and it hasn't been particularly hard so far. I'm probably only one bacon sarnie craving away from cracking though.

I have some vague moral objections to meat eating, but I don't think I actually care enough to go full-time veggie. Is there a word for someone who eats meat, but only, like, once a week? Why do I care about there being a word? I'd prefer it if there was a word.

Wondering why people saying "anythink" is so common, I assume they don't say "what was that think you wanted to talk about?", where did the k come from?

I know what you'd need, and that's a good hiding across the botty and a few "move it soldier", "move it, maggot"'s etc.

I've done 2 of them too but now I have to do a third, and this stupid third one is the hardest when I did my MA no one cared actually It was relatively low stress, work-wise, except that I was so messed up I freaked myself out even before beginning it

edit: moving to a foreign country did not help, esp for someone with SA!

I don't think I cba with dehydrating food.

You have to remove too much fat from meals because fat doesn't dehydrate well, and cam go rancid.

Rancid fat is one of the worst smells ever.

I'm browsing cereal bars and other easy to pack and access shit.

So much easier just whipping out a jordan's frusli bar and stuffing it in yer gob, or whipping out my salami and nut's and shoving them in my gob as well.

I'm also thinking about going to the cinema to watch Superman vs Batman.

True to all that but I haven't been to the cinema since the first Hobbit film and it's better than sitting on my arse at home.

Variety's a bit of a concern for me, as I've always been a fussy eater, and I worry that if I'm too strict then instead of becoming a big fan of salads I'll just ramp up the crisp and cake consumption to stop my belly grumbling.

See, I can't even kill a spider without feeling like The Return of Hitler. I once set traps for mice in my kitchen and within a few weeks I'd bought a couple of pet rats out of remorse.

If I watched enough of those horrible slaughterhouse/battery farm videos, I'd probably be put off for life. But then I'd pretty much have to make changes to my lifestyle. Just think, no more convenience, no more wilful ignorance... brr, doesn't bear thinking about.
