I feel exactly the same way. I probably should do something eventually but I can do without the hassle. I don't have to tidy my room for a start!

There is still pressure on people to be with somebody which I think is wrong.

I am in my mid 20s would love to meet a nice man but it doesn't seem to be too easy. i need to put more effort, but i don't! because i would need to go out or go on a date to meet someone :-) a few of my friends are in serious relationships, feel like i am missing out but am scared i will end up old, lonely and no children :-(

I am the same, and yes SA makes it real diffcult but it is possible. i have one friend, well at least i think she is a friend, and unfortunately she is my ex who because of my SA told me she can't deal with it anymore, but because of a crap situation and me being far too soft we share a house, not good or healthy, but she moved in with me in 2006 so i added her name to the mortgage. everything was good for about 2 yrs and then my SA and depression got worse and things just spiralled. so now trapped more than ever.

now want to meet someone who also suffers as i believe we would have a better chance as at least there would be understanding of how eachother feels.

That is the good thing about not working, I don't have to listen to the boring dribble that comes out of the mouths of extroverts. Therefore I don't have that problem, but I do feel for you as I do know what it is like to have anxiety about having no social life when I had a job many many moons ago.

Yes, very much Single, and have been all my life apart from one 6 month 'fling' - I am very depressed about being Single

, however, I have no interest in friends, never really had any and surprisingly I am very happy about that

well found myself single again, having only one friend who is a single parent so doesnt get much time to go out, I find myself wondering how on earth do I meet someone new when I dont even go out. I know dating websites seem to be the answer but being extremely shy and quiet, somehow dont think I'm going to have much luck and dont think my low confidence could take that or the rejection

Yep, i'm single. Been single for about 6 months. Don't really go anywhere to meet anyone....mind you, took myself off to see Simple Minds last week for their greatest hits tour...yeah, on my own! check me out!!! (yep, i'm doing the pleased with myself dance)
I know it's not true but sometimes i think women just don't wanna go out with quiet shy guys.

I dont think thats true crumble, having said that I feel the same way about men liking shy, quiet women. The one thing I would find hard explaining is the lack of friends, I remember reading on one of those how to write your profile, that you should have a main photo of yourself and another of you and friends as there would be something strange about someone with no mates, well thats me stuffed then lol

maybe you might meet a girl like this at a meetup group, as would imagine in the real world it would be hard to meet a shy girl just because they might not like to go on dates etc :-(

on paper a quiet shy girl does seem great,
once upon a time i was convinced i should probably go for them

but in reality i found quiet shy girls dont talk much. keep themselves to themselves ....and act super cautious

so having found that i dont tend to go for them

Haven't been in a relationship for over 12 years now. I do feel lonely but have to accept that if I don't go out to meet people how am I going to find someone.

The biggest problem I've encountered is how other people make you feel about being single for any length of time. I do have a couple of friends but any time they are talking about relationships and I offer an opinion they just point out how long I've been single and say what do I know. That does hurt.
