'Oh **** off you chinky git!' That was my best friend at school at the time! That cut real deep and I was too stunned to even react. Needless to say that was the end of that friendship lol

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
It's probably not the worst but it sticks in my mind. A friend of mine said that he 'hated all gingers'. I asked if he was joking and he said 'no, I hate gingers.'
Cheers mate |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
I feel fairly lucky after reading these.
Suppose one of the worst for me was being told to get a life, wasnt meant in the funny way either was meant in the most basic sense of it. |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
This one is more annoying that it is hurtful..and it happened just last night..
A manager at my store said to me 'Cheer up it might never happen' ARGHH The reason I hate this line so much is because how does this person know it didn't just happen. I could have had a relative pass away, have ended a long term relationship, been diagnosed with an illness and a million other possibilities. It's funny though. It was this same manager who used to make similar comment months ago, about me not smilling. I wander what his beef is with people who don't smile at him? It's odd. |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
I was bullied nearly ever day at school, so I've lost count of the amount of hurtful things said to me. There are a few things that really stick, though, like when a group of about 10 kids were taking the piss out of me in primary school, and when this girl was pretending to fancy me and then, in front of loads of people, said something to the effect of "I wouldn't go near you in a million years", whilst laughing. Funny. Oh, and there's been plenty of times when kids have pretended to like me (or maybe even did like me), only to turn on me. There's really no confusion as to why I'm a socially anxious avoidant.

A few from an ex ' you make my life a misery ' 'you'd be too unstable to marry' 'how could you have kids? You can't even look after your pets' 'you'll never cope on your own' other things from other people so hurtful I wouldn't even type them! Plus, a guy in the pub with me and my friend ..' you look the oldest, you look motherly ' eek I hated that and any other comments about me looking older than I am. And comments about my glasses.. ' your glasses are so strong you can see into the future ' (don't laugh!) And something that gave me a phone phobia forever ' when people ring someone they usually have something to say' |

" He just stands there "
" Your ugly " " You got a big head " " His face is squashed up " " He looks wierd " And I what I hate most is when people speak of me, like I'm not there, or I can't speak english. Its all from the past, but it still haunts me though. |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
Some of these are very sad and make me so angry.
I feel lucky because right now the worst things I can remember are stuff like 'why do you never speak' or 'you're too quiet' or 'you need to talk more'. The very first post, if someone said that to me and I was in a bad mood, I rarely ever snap, but then I would go very angry if a stranger said that. I have encountered a few cheeky sales people though but to be honest they do have the worst job in the world. |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
Nothing really nasty to my face, it's usually stuff that's been said behind my back that I've either overheard or it's got back to me somehow.
I guess when I get stuff like 'why are you quiet' etc I hate it, but I don't think it's particularly nasty of the other person. |

Re: What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
"I wish him dead"
Said about me across a room to someone else, by someone who thought I'd turned them down, but in reality I'd been so utterly gobsmacked that someone like her was even interested in me I half thought it was a joke and responded in a jokey fashion. A spectacular error of judgement by me as it turned out. I seem to recall she also called me a 'potential rapist' which was pretty f*cking horrible. Inaccurate too, if I'm too shy to even tell someone I like them, I'm not likely to be so brazen as to try attempted rape am I? Bizarrely I really, really liked her too. She obviously went off me pretty quickly though. I wish I hadn't messed things up with her. "I don't love you anymore...I probably never have" Ex-girlfriend years ago, not a horrible thing to say in itself but in the context of being dumped by someone, it feels awful. "I don't think he's a monster or anything..." Two colleagues talking about me recently, that was the nicest thing they could think to say about me. Pretty grim when you think about it. "He's so weird and quiet, how could anyone ever like him?" Two girls from college I overheard talking about me as I walked across a formroom, years ago. I remember it really cutting right through me at the time. "He's too weird, she doesn't want that" Again, work colleagues talking about me and my not at all private life. Oh, yeah - my Mum says horrible things about me pretty much constantly. "No wonder you've got no friends" as I got into the car to go home from Hospital after a nervous breakdown springs to mind immediately. Also when I was younger and she'd talk about me whilst on the phone to her friends, I can't remember any specific ones but it was pretty much constant belittling and criticism. |

^ probably for the best in your case then! With me, this one would have definitely been a keeper
I'm being a bit funny with her now (annoying, I mean...not humourous) ...not intentionally, just automatic response... so will see how long she keeps me as a friend |

I know it's going to be difficult to keep things going as a friend. It may be better in the long run for you to not see her.
