I never actually watched the show, just saw the adverts. I just don't like the way it presents people from Essex, it just seems to propagate this stereotype even further. I'm already embarrassed to say where I'm from... I remember on holiday I would just get an "oh essex girl eh" with a smirk if I mentioned where I was from!

I've just looked about on web and I can 100% say that this is a total bollux interpretation of us. Some are hard party types but nothing like whats been shown. Plus they fit more in with the Middlesborough scene. Why are they all f-in orange as well? ;]

But People just simply connect essex with ..dirty tart's ..lol nicest way of saying it really eh .

As someone who lives in (north) Essex I can tell you parts of it are really very beautiful and not as chavvy as you might imagine!







and some of the Tudor/Jacobian villages are beautiful.

Lots of Essex people are offended by this programme and despise the stereotype, sure there are many who think it's a laugh and that's fine, but some of us don't appreciate the piss taken out of us, on TV, online, or in real life. We don't get taken seriously. I would like to be taken seriously. Like Narwhal and shortie, if I say I'm from Essex I get a snigger and a comment. My boyfriend's family and friends think I'm a joke because I'm an Essex girl, it really pisses me off. I have hated this stereotype since I was 12 when I got some really nasty comments about how I must be a slapper, unfortunetely I didn't smack the guy but I wish I had.

I don't watch the show but adverts are enough to tell me ITV need a good smacking. Not to mention the laughs I'm getting. If other parts of the UK are getting it next, all I can say is.... *points at you* HA HA.
