lol

Trust me, no one wants to see Haye vs Briggs.

I hope both guys get double groin shot ko's in the first if it takes place.

Actually I can't blame Briggs he's just looking for a pay day and would give it all he's got, but Haye should be fighting top contenders.

Watching a film, that i told a friend about, who had already seen it, and who, after i mentioned it to him, 'warned' me that it wasn't 'big production', like i have a naive, vanity about films(!!!!)

I'm not sure what to think about it, but i'm siding with the notion that he thinks i'm mainstream and i need to be coaxed into a certain mindset before exposing myself to such things.

It's pretty ****ing annoying. I'm very open minded when it comes to .. anything. I can't hold an opinion to save my life, so where he's got these ideas from i don't know.

Just went for a drive. Thought early on a Sunday might be the best option. I started a bit nervy but drove for about an hour and 20 mins. I was worried about the town center on the way back but was fine and certainly 100 times better than yesterday's short but anxious drive. Can't believe I used to zip round the town every day to work.

Quite enjoyed myself once I got out into the country. I guess it's just perseverance and practice. I'm beginning to feel a bit better about it all. Just need to stop being so panicked about other road users.

What's this about topless driving? You just concentrate on getting into the correct gear before you go gallivanting about the countryside, parading your wares

I'm trying to write an email to my Mum. She's holidaying in Canada atm. We've already had an exchange and now i'm trying to reply her previous message... i'm finding it quite difficult. I'm not suited for this - i've got a strong preference for communicating in the moment. I'd make an awful penpal

My weighted vest is slightly heavier, it starts to cause discomfort in and around my neck after 2hrs walking. This is hills, uneven ground and such.

How much walking are you planning on? What bag have you got?

I'm going to do at least 12 miles.

I did that in about 12 hours last time to Scafel Pike and back, with just a couple of litres of water, my dinner and a few other bits and bobs.

I've got the whole of Cumbria on my phone and the whole of Great Langdale in satellite imagery so I might end up doing a lot more than that, and doing as many of the Langdale Pikes as I can.

I'm torn between really taking my time and taking it easy, and doing as much as I can.

I've got up to a month so I'll see how it goes.

I can make it a much more relaxing back packing trip, or get bored sitting around and end up wrecking myself.

Oh and my pack is 65litres.

^^ Is that 12 miles per day? So you haven't got an exact plan, you're just heading out and doing whatever? Are you lugging that bag about the house, preparing yourself? Do you do any sort of training?

I really want to do some hiking, see some of the country. I like the idea of doing something of a challenge, then after a hard days ramble putting my feet up and guzzling some fine ale, listening to the local minstrel, planning the next day.

You and HS should get together and develop the Great Langdale valley.

Roads and 5 star hotels do not exist. Paths barely exist.

Not per day.

Last time I did the second longest route there and back from Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale to Scafell Pike, which was just under 12 miles.

Plan to take the same route again and come back via The Band route so I can do the sixth highest peak in England, Bowfell, this time, at least.

I can break this up over time and do really short hikes and have plenty of time taking it all in though.

I will probably be tempted to wander off though and do whatever, bag some more Pikes.

I'm not sure yet.

I might do some wild camping then check into a camp site so I can get a Megarider Gold bus ticket for a week and travel all over Cumbria. I'd like to see the coast.

I don't do any training Spud lol

Well last year I did three hikes to Cadair Idris in the space of 6 weeks then did Scafell Pike, but this time training has been walking around Brum City centre, and that's it pretty much. lol

I don't think I could lug my pack to Scafell Pike and back in a day right now.

The longest hikes I've done are 15 miles one day then 25 the next. That was hard work and it killed my feet.

You like to mosey about then, i doubt we'd make good walking buddies that being the case

Nah, i've never done the sort of hiking that you're doing, i just go for a walk now and then for a couple of hours. I'm quite fit though, so i'm sure i could ramble with the best of them!

Enjoy your trip, bud, take it easy on Agnes - when is it you go again?

I didn't mosey about last time I went mate, but this time, I'd like to.

Out mountains are quite small and tame tbh, that's why you see kids and old people enjoying them.

Of course, in bad weather it's a lot different, especially high winds and snow.

Last time I went the fog was bad and I almost got lost half way without a compass.

If you have average fitness levels and no fear of heights, pack a decent lunch and a couple of litres of water, anyone could do the hardest route up Scafell Pike in a day, in the right conditions. It'd be tough but doable.

I told Winter that her and Rummy could do the easiest route up it in a day but she's over estimating how hard it is, so they've chosen smaller peaks to do.

They could have just gone straight for the big un tbh.

I'm off in the morning mate and I won't be taking it easy on Agnes.

I did 170 miles in 9 days summer before last. Lost my 20 mile a day average on the last two days due to logistics. The state of my feet...

Turned up at campsites in interesting conditions as well I think. Got offered sympathy cups of tea a few times. One day I turned up at a campsite to find out it was full, they looked at me and decided they could find space for me. The suggestion to put up my tent and return to pay just ended up with me collapsing on the ground and not moving for a while! Another day I turned up at a campsite to find out it was actually attached to a pub. Stumbled into the pub and I swear I made no sense, they just handed me a menu lol.

People look at me oddly when I say that was a holiday!

That's it I'm staying at a campsite with loads of facilities and not doing any walking.

Lol it sounds a lot more interesting than being flat out on a beach, drinking cocktails.

Although I could do with that as well at the end to recover.

I found out about Dimebag after one of the UFC fighters Matt Brown told his story of being there the night he got shot.

lol foot pain isn't part of it.

Nothing like fecked up feet to bring everything to a halt.

I can deal with everything else.

I reckon I spent about 18 hours walking one day last year and my feet where murder the next day.
