Default Gender ID symbol option ?

Is there any way to fit in a gender ID symbol option alongside the usual stuff like username/ avatar etc..?
It could help to know when someone posts something, of course there should be the option to not select (leave blank) a Gender ID symbol.

I think we all know SAUK is a sausage party, for the most part anyway.
And I think it would probably do more harm than good... more guys sending PM's to everyone with a female icon no doubt.

^i think it is a good idea, i have thought female members were males before quite a few times and had to apologize.

SAUK isn't a sausage fest detox, there was a poll quite a while back and there were only slightly more males than females on SAUK. It's the meets that are the sausage fests.. lol

and i have only heard one female here complain about being sexually harassed by a male, but once a long time ago i did hear a guy kinda halfheartedly complain that a female member had propositioned him for sex over pm

I find the idea a bit creepy in a way , like it would be used to compile lists of potential dates? Unless i'm being paranoid and there's another reason to want to know a user's gender.
It might be relevant when considering the context of what another poster is saying, how their experience relates to yours, etc.

I don't see any particular harm in having such a feature, but I also don't think it's one we particularly need.

I asked for this feature years ago, but it didn't come to anything.

Doesn't really bother me in the least.
If there is an option to 'opt out' of saying either way, then surely everyone is happy.

i think this is a good idea, i find it very confusing sometimes not knowing the context of someone's post.
