This probably doesn't help you much but I've never ever thought you come across as desperate. I promise.

I'm not sure I can give any advice really except I think this is a normal emotion and especially if you're lonely. I've done this thing myself (a few times!) and it can be upsetting and annoying.

Just thought I'd say so you know that you're not a weirdo.

I think it's probably a mixture of low self esteem and loneliness and just really wanting to have a relationship.

Projected too many thoughts onto someone because of wanting a relationship. It made sense in response to Freespirit but not since his post was removed.

What does projecting thoughts onto someone mean?

Imagining there's more to the relationship than there really is!

Reading too much into small things that don't mean anything etc.

Oh yeah I've done that myself.

There's really no need to think you're a weirdo for doing that though, it's not that bad. It's just a natural result of really wanting a relationship and having been deprived of it all of your life, or for a lot of your life.

I didn't say it was weird. It was a light hearted comment in response to something Freespirit said - which doesn't make sense now as his post isn't showing.
