Hello,

My name is Rob, I am a 37 year old and have been suffering from anxiety for a while now. I first started noticing things were tangibly not quite right about ten years ago but symptoms had been present probably five years prior to that.

I am on the verge of leaving yet another job but this time I have emailed my employer with a short but truthful (mentioning anxiety) explanation regarding my absence from work and what might be construed as odd or even rude behavior. With that email, I am hoping to establish an understanding, to what end I don't know.

I wonder if this site will help or perpetuate my "condition" but I can't run from it anymore as I will literally be unemployable after this and am very worried about being able to pay rent and run a car.

I think my next step would be to visit a GP and push to get some real answers. I did go to see a doctor about ten years ago who basically said that I just needed to pull myself together which hasn't worked.

Anyway if your still reading, this is my big hello and maybe I'll speak to you sometime ...

If you do not get the response you want from ur GP , try a different GP until you do get an appropriate response. Best of luck.

Well thankfully the medics have changed a fair bit over the last 10 years (although they still have a bit of a way to go imo), but going to see one to get more answers is definitely the way forward. At least then you'll know what your having to deal with and expect, as to prepare yourself.

Well, my appointment is for next Wednesday so I'll prepare what I have to say before I go in this time, as opposed to 10 years ago when I just strolled in.
