OMG! So those of us that are past our prime are only hearing Laurel?

Anyway, did I say I heard the word laurel? What I meant to say is that I think I might have heard the word Yammy? Or was it Yanny? Whatever that word might be, I think I might have heard it. Also, if any members who are in their prime want to challenge me to a virtual arm wrestle, then I will be happy to do that. Although I don't think we have the technology to do that yet. Which is a shame as I would have been more than happy to prove that I am still kind of, more or less, in my prime. Not that I’m feeling insecure or anything in wanting to prove that I’m still kind of, more or less, in my prime.

Anyway, all this typing has worn me out. So if anyone needs me I will be in the club 30-81 thread.

Iím mostly getting Laurel but Yanny is also sometimes popping up. The deep voice saying Laurel sounds like a posh English guy and the guy saying Yanny sounds like a Russian dude.. Anyone else getting that? My brother can only hear Gary or Deary !!

Both, superimposed. The yanny is quite high-pitched and breathy and the laurel is kinda band-pass filtered too.

There is another sample somewhere where some people hear notes going up and other people hear notes going down. I'll have to find it.

for each pair of notes, does the second sound higher or lower?
I hear higher, lower, higher, lower.

Hmm just read the guy that recorded it a few years ago for vocabulary.com was saying 'Laurel'.

I just listened to the clip on the daily mail whilst reading the article and I was back to 'yammy'. Listened to the one on here and again and started off as Yammy then half way through changed to Laurel. I guess this must mean i'm teetering on the edge of old fart'ness!

I hear Yanny... I must need help

I saw a video the other day that said older people hear Laurel and younger people hear Yanny which is interesting as it makes perfect sense in my case.
