Question >30s meet preferences . . .

3am, what better time to mount a poll, so to speak

Anyway, if I haven't put everyone off already, let's try this. Hopefully this is a multi-choice poll where you can tick as many options as you want.

I've broached the subject of whether this should be >30s only or not. If oldies are being put off by the thought of looking like a prevert among much younger attendees, then I think we should go ahead and have it as >30s only. You can choose your preference.

Also we need to get a feel for whether people are willing or able to travel far. Finally timing.

We appear to have ~20 interested now so that's a good number i think.

Right I'm going to bed

I would be prepared to travel finances allowing. The trouble is I don't have any spare cash to pay for accommodation or expensive fares.
I do like the idea of an over 30's meet though. If it was planned a little way ahead there might be more time to make arrangements. Also it is possible to get cheaper train fares if you book well in advance.
Accommodation would be a problem for me though if it was too far to return home on the same day.

Thanks for your thoughts Winnie and 'narna, and thanks to y'all for doing the poll.

Yes Winnie I'm totally barrassic atm so want the chance to book travel early. Apparently earlier than 35 days before travel is when the really cheapest rail tickets can be bought, so 6 wks notice would be best. I think others would prefer to not have to overnight somewhere too if poss.

Bananaman, yep totally agree. I think for the George meets it can be fine because there are enough ppl for everyone to meet people of a similar age, and it's fun having all ages together. But when there are fewer ppl, it can become awkward like you say.

Anyway, what can we conclude . . .

1. We want over-30s meets.

2. We want one around mid-april or later.

3. We are going to need more than one meet since only a third would go to London, and only a third would go to Brum.

4. Only me and one other were PO'd with polls, so I might just get away with one more. Better think it through better this time . . .

cheers

A (strictly) over 30's meet, in the midlands would be my ideal.

I think these meets should ideally be open for anyone who is nearish 30 or over... I mean lets say someone who is 26 or 27 should feel free to come along IMO. Age is just a number.

If that were the case over 30's should be allowed to go to the youth meets. I think it should be STRICTLY over 30's!

Im now closer to 40 than 30 so Id probably feel more comfortable at an over 30 meet. More likely to attend this type as a first meet up and I definately need to get out more!
