Re: Small things that make you smile
Saw an old, fat guy wearing a short sleeved button-up shirt with half the buttons undone from the bottom up walking into a busy supermarket, his hairy gut partially exposed for all to see.

Apparently the trains to Brighton were delayed today due to a man getting stuck up a tree and having to be rescued by the fire brigade.

I saw a woman refuse collector this morning, she wasn't even young, I think she must have been middle aged. I always like to see people refusing to fit the mould.

Re: Small things that make you smile
I was shopping earlier this evening at my local large 24hr supermarket and came across a shelf of candles in glass jars with letters on them, and some wag had arranged a few to spell out T I T S and for some reason it appealed to my juvenile sense of humour.

I really, really love rat hands.
It bothers me slightly that Google doesn't come up with any good pictures of rats holding things in their hands. |

Re: Small things that make you smile
So we spent half the day telling the kids that if you're extra good and end up at the top of Santa's nice list, the elves sometimes leave a special box for you to open on Christmas Eve.
The time comes, and the boxes mysteriously appear in the evening. 'Wow! It's magic! Who do you think left the boxes, Oskar?!' 'I think it was the aliens.' |

^ Don't knock Vera, some of it was filmed just up the road from me last summer, it was in the middle of the night! Her accents rubbish, but the scenery is top notch (but then I'm biased).

Speaking to my niece on the phone,
Me - Hello, are you alright? Niece - yes Me - What have you been up to? Niece - I'm making a scrap book. Me - Oh that's nice, cut off I'm clearly boring her to death. Niece - okay, bye, see you tomorrow lol |

Re: Small things that make you smile
My four year old was distraught at bedtime, concerned about some toy that he'd suddenly remembered. I told him we'll find it in the morning and he said 'no, she'll be sad somewhere without me'.
I find it so impressive that he has so much empathy for a) an inanimate object and b) an inanimate object that wasn't even in his immediate surroundings. |

Re: Small things that make you smile
A conversation with my four year old about the cost of toilet paper.
Him: Nine toilet rolls? I think that maybe cost a hundred pounds! Me: No, that's way too much, it probably cost like, three pounds. Him: Three pounds? That's not a lot. Me: Well, think about it, you could buy twelve Kinder bars for three pounds. Him: Waste of money, if you ask me. |
