Re: Do you have hay fever?
I do get it. I also have a few other auto immune or things from the atopic triad as they call it.

Re: Do you have hay fever?
I noticed that quite a few male members of sauk have hay fever.
(Not that I want to accuse hay fever of trying to take down the patriarchy.) |

Re: Do you have hay fever?
^ &^^ Yes, sometimes on windy days and days when the pollens count is high it irritates our noses. Also when people are cutting their grass.
I'm surprised there isn't a cure for hay fever. Not a cure, but a way of building up tolerance. Why do some people get it and others don't? Some theories suggest it's to do with keeping too clean when a child. Some suggest having cats when being a baby reduces allergies. It's possibly genetic too. Where you live plays a part too. Are their pollen capsules that people can take to build up their tolerance? |

Re: Do you have hay fever?
I think hayfever and autoimmune diseases are related, so it could be something to do with not developing a proper tolerance to irritants when younger.
I know eczema, which is linked to hayfever, can develop when children aren't exposed to certain foods when young, then develop an allergy to it when older. I listened to a good podcast on it with a doctor but can't remember the exact details! I wonder what the recent prevalence of hand sanitizers for kids will mean down the line. I've been getting sun allergy for the last few years which is related, too. However, after the first few exposures to the sun in the spring, the skin builds a tolerance and it doesn't occur as much for the rest of the year. So there might be something in your pollem exposure idea. Not going to try it though! I did read that the reason hayfever is a lot more popular now is that most places plant male trees and plants as they don't drop as much fruit and make a mess, but do produce more pollen. https://www.theguardian.com/environm...ay-fever-worse |

^ Me too. My brother used to get very bad hayfever and start off every day with a series of loud sneezes!
