Default What did you do for your 30th?

Well, as much as I hate to admit im 30 on the 15th March.....just had some rubbish news that my freind isn't able to come out with me for my 30th so i'm looking for ideas.......(is it wrong to goto pub on my own for my 30th lol)

I'm alittle anxious that i'll spend my 30th on my own, don't really want to look back at my 30th and remember I sat and watched some rubbish on TV.........eeeeek

My 30th is in exactly 2 weeks - think I'm going out for a meal with my parents and bloke.

Just do whatever makes you happy! It's your birthday, and a milestone as well, so please yourself

Mine was a non-event, as was my 18th, 21st and 40th. My next big 'milestone' year will be my 50th. This time I'm going to get all my friends together and have a big party. Oh no, that's right, I don't have any.

For my 30th it was the same like any other, I went to work, didn't tell anyone, came back home, ate food with parents in a pub then bed.

i'll be 30 at the end of the month. going to go out with some friends the weekend before it and get very drunk
but i'll probably spend most of my actual birthday on my own. maybe go out for a meal in the evening but not got anything special planned.

It'll be my 30th birthday in July. I'm not that bothered as I'm sort of happier than I was when I turned 20 and I even hated turning 13 as I thought that was old.

I hope to spend the day with a certain friend of mine, hopefully go away for a couple of days to Cornwall or Scotland or something to make it a bit more interesting.

Happy 30th birthday to my fellow SAUKers who were born in 1980.

Hmmm, thats going back a bit. I had bought tickets for a gig for me and 'a mate' (I think it was my 30th). It turned out I was mistaken about the place and venue, which was farther away, and a bit inconvenient, so we decided to just go out instead. Until i bottled out, through the way i was feeling.......
Yeh, not the only birthday I had a carry out meal on my own to....

I did nothing special. I guess my mum and my aunt called like they do on every birthday, that was it.

I can tell you what i did on my 29th....nothing.
My eldest brother came down from Leeds and met my other brother who lived 7 miles from me,who both went out on the piss without me.
I never even got a telephone call wishing me happy birthday,or any cards. So apart from wanting to die i can't remember much more.

Most of my other birthdays have mostly followed the same pattern

On my 30th I went to work as normal, and spent the evening dancing and then drinking with a bunch of students (as I normally do every Thursday night). I deliberately didn't tell any of them it was my birthday, in fact I purposefully hid my birthday on Facebook well in advance so that hardly anyone would know. I got a telling off from one friend for not celebrating it properly, she said "you're only 30 once", but as far as I'm concerned even that was once too often and I really didn't see it as anything to celebrate.

I did have a small party a bit later but it was a joint event with one of my other friends so I didn't feel too much like the centre of attention thankfully.

Aw, come on, it's not the end of the world, only a birthday. I know it's hard to think of it like that, but i never do anything for my birthdays and it just doesn't bother me now, never really did though.

My parents had a party for me, we went to a restaurant and I got blasted on red wine.
My 21st, they made a big deal of it and had a large party with relatives and stuff. I was helping set it up after a long week at Uni and fell asleep at the table - and no-one noticed. Typical!!

I didn't do anything, i didn't even look 30 and i still don't, i look about 21, i find it embarrasing to tell people my age because i don't look it atall.
I don't see why people have do things for birthdays anyway really and i don't think people should feel weird if they didn't do anything.

Well it may of been a little exaggeration about subsequent birthdays as i have realised they are not much really. On my 29th though i was in a bit of a state because of circumstances so i guess i took it to heart more than i would usually

My 30th is in a few months, by that point I shall have my time machine ready, then I'm going to go back in time and either go through some complicated scheme to somehow make myself 25 or just make myself filthy rich :smug3:

I went round my mum's house for tea. My next door neighbour's daughter ( who was about 27 at the time ) had popped round there in her motorway police Land Rover Discovery. Joining the police has been a pipe dream of mine for many years, feeling rather bitter, I fired up my mums laptop and e-mailed a complaint to Lancashire Police about how she had been activitating the lights and sirens for the amusement of her young son. She got a serious bollocking, my next door neighbours have never spoken to their neighbours the other side since, cause they blamed them. That's about as exciting as it got!

My 30th was one of my most memorable birthdays because I was made redundant just a few days before and realised that I loved (in a more than friends way) my male best friend who had just got engaged.
I spent the evening with him and it was nice, despite the circumstances. (I didn't tell him)

My 40th is 4 years away and I hope I'll be feeling better by then and will have a few close friends to share it with - maybe even a partner....
