Russ Harris has just sent me an ACT animation on the ''Struggle Switch'' metaphor which might be useful to people interested in the ACT model.

These are excellent, thanks. I'd heard of this kind of method before and it does help me a lot, but I forget it quickly. Good to have the reminder.

Just had a quick look for an ACT worksheet for myself on finding purpose and meaning, and since I've found it thought I'd share: http://www.get.gg/docs/FindingMeaning.pdf

This looks like the sort of thing I'd enjoy reading as I've benefited a lot from CBT in the past as well. What would you recommend for starters? Think I'll get something on my kindle later tonight if I can.

Hi Laura,

I tend to buy text books on ACT rather than self-help books but Russ Harris has a very easy to read book based on ACT called 'The Happiness Trap'. I think I've mentioned it on page one of this thread.

Maybe to get a feel for what books you may prefer on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy a browse on Amazon might help. They have loads of books on ACT.

Russ Harris' website 'ACT Mindfully' http://www.actmindfully.com.au/ may also give a few pointers as to what you might like to look into further. There are some free resources on there too.

I hope this helps.

I love these little videos, they're great ACT is certainly something I'd like to read up on a bit more when I have the time.

I'm glad they are useful to some people out there.

Russ is great at making ACT accessible and user-friendly.
