Default Forums on SAUK

I just have a question about the rooms/forums on this board.
A while ago there was a question about opening up a games room. Now, I figured that nothing would come of it for one main reason: the powers that be may believe it would make the board too full and therefore create clutter. However, when I thought about this issue I realised something. Such a room would be used constantly all the time, whilst other rooms/forums we have are used very, very rarely. If the argument goes "gaming threads can just be put in the lounge" surely the argument can apply to other rooms?

These rooms are rarely used: over 30s club, youth club, family room, support groups, main web site, chatroom. I understand the need for the last few because they don't really fit in elsewhere (although surely people could just post questions about these in the garage or the lounge). But the first few aren't really that necessary. I mean, posts in the over 30s don't seem to only apply to over 30s and could be made in the lounge (and there they would get more attention too), and the youth club is just used to ask questions about education really, which could also be asked in the lounge (and would also get more attention there). The family room is rarely used and all questions from this could be put in the lounge, again gaining more attention than they do currently.

Now, if there was a games room, this would be used all the time. It would empty some space in the lounge and would encourage more people to post new, amazing games that we can all join in on. Frequent posters need such a room, it will help relieve our boredom and we would have more threads to reply to.
Anyway, that's my case. Any views or opinions? Any forums you think that need removing or adding to this site?

I also think a games room would be a great additition to the forums.

I also don't think such boards should be deleted. However, my case was that a gaming board would be used more frequently than these boards. I was arguing against the main point against creating a gaming board (before anyone actually argued it!).

I never really considered such games. I was mainly thinking about "word association", the song games, "picture association", etc, and any new games that would be created. Such games as you mentioned would be great, but as you said, I don't know if they'd be practical or easy to set up on a board such as this.

I don't honestly care, what do people usually do in lounges anyway? These days lots of people sit playing games on a console. My son only goes in the front room to play PS2 games and watch toons.
If it makes for more games though then yeah, why not

OOOoooohhh!!!!!!!

Just realised. The 'archives' section no longer works! Remove that and add the gaming forum! Then there will be no more clutter! The main page will be the same length and will look no more cluttered!

YOu know my view already on this as I carried out a poll not long ago (where the majority were in favour of a board dedicated to games)but just to reiterate and back Amberfirez.
PLEASE may we have a games board!

The arcade was your idea. I just meant a 'games room' which threads such as "word association", "song title game" and "who can eat the most raw fish game". But the arcade idea is a good one, but I don't know enough about it to be honest.

We could always have both! Sounds cool. But if we ask for both are we asking for too much? Well, we'll see what the mods say. It works for them too... makes the forum better, makes us happy, makes us post more, attracts more people! It's a win-win situation!

How do we know that Anne won't say that Shaz will sort it out ?

This is a grave situation.

What cast iron guarantees do we have from the fine SAUK administration that they will keep to their political promises once in power.

Just wondered how this will be done. Will all the games from The Lounge be transferred to the new board along with Picture Association from the Photos section?

I think Anne said it will be a sub forum of the lounge, and all the games threads will go in there.
Hope that helps

Note: there's a spelling mistake under the room name.

It says: "Forum for games like word association, song titles, quizes and such". Quizzes is spelt wrong. Just thought I'd let you know, not that it matters too much!
