I braved the shops today.

Yes, I’d like a sticker.

So far so good! Although anything can happen after the brussel sprouts have been served!

^ oh noooo - I forgot the clucking wrapping paper!

Will people mind if I put their gifts inside socks, tied with a bow? Or glitter filled balloons that they can pop?

^ sounds innovative. I tried using tinfoil once. I mean it is shiny, but it also tears easily.

^ that's not a bad idea, tinfoil!

I braved the shops and they had Christmas cats wrapping paper so that made the trip worthwhile.

Christmas shopping done. I now intend to stay mildly drunk for a week and see what the new year brings.

Not sure what’s happening in my area - got the bus in to town earlier for a bit of shopping - bus was quiet, and so was the town! Well, it was fairly busy, but just the usual busyness on a Saturday rather than the last Sat before Xmas!
Also went for a drive later to take the dog for a walk, and the road which is usually almost solid at that time of day was a breeze.

Don’t remember it like that last Xmas.

Yes, was in our local town this morning and it was dead. I know its a Sunday and shops are opening a touch later but there as nobody about?!

Certainly not what I expected at all.

In my infinite wisdom, I accidentally bought manual salt and pepper grinders instead of electric. So I had to go and find some electric ones yesterday and was very grateful for the quiet. Although, I did go fairly early.

Black eye Friday was unusually quiet in most towns across the country.

So called because the emergency services usually have their busiest night of the year, but this one was much calmer than normal.
