Yes, definitely, think it requires a doctor's note or something similar, as they are stringent enough about your obligations in relation to doing your civic duty or whatever.

But I didn't have anything like that so had to oblige unfortunately.

Not having any chocolate biscuits.

It is, all things considered, a pitiable state of being.

I do have some rich tea from when I was medically unable to eat nice things for a week.

^ rich tea biscuits! Rich tea biscuits are the ones you keep in the cupboard to offer unwanted company to ensure they never want to come and visit ever again. The softer the better.

You know its love if someone whips out a jam 'n cream ring.

Oil & filter changes - messy, miserable job in the freezing cold. Got old oil up my jacket sleeve. But hey, it's done for another year now.

^ In the cold weather you don't fancy giving your own oil & filter to a good indy and just pay the labour? I get the doing it yourself bit, because it's straightforward and you know you've done it right, but the messy jobs like oil/draining/disposal - bah! I'd rather pay someone to get messy on my behalf

I know what you mean but the only person I trust to work on my car is myself. I've seen some of the work that 'mechanics' have done. Plus I'm very SA about going to garages.

^ Aye I get that. The hard part is finding that diamond mechanic who's as fastidious as you at doing the right job to the right standard every time.

I'd be happy to bring my car to you

^Sneezing at the cut grass!

Also, the stupid bits of tape that hold together rolls of wrapping paper now. They never peel off without ripping or marking the paper, so you just lose X amount of length off the roll.

I've had that with rolls of tin foil. The tape is so sticky that I've ended up destroying a load of the foil trying to get it off.

Yes that too! Also that the edge on foil boxes lately seem sharp enough for a paper cut if I catch my finger on it but no use at all for tearing the foil

The way a vivid dream can leave you in a minor state of grief when you wake up and realise none of it was real and the memory will completely fade away in a few hours.

Goodbye, Potato the pet owl, I hardly knew ye.

Drove down to Asda petrol station to use the car wash but the kiosks had the shutters down, so I couldn't get a voucher. Drove back down two hours later and this time the kiosks were open but they said the car wash was broken. The damn thing is always buggered

I should have gone to Vision Express! No, he really does mean the world to me! I'm a big fan of him!

And better luck next time, Lee!

The Blackburn is immortal since he sold his soul to the devil. In his Radio 1 days, he tried to hit on my teenage sister (who will be 70 this year) and she thought he was a creepy old man then.
