Default Social anxiety and being a mum

Hello I'm sian I've been suffering with social anxiety since I was around 16 . I have a 19 month old and I'm pregnant , I feel my anxiety is holding me back from socialising and I constantly feel guilty for not taking him to playgroups . I feel like a terrible mum all the time . I was wondering if there's any other mums out there who have gone through this ? Any advice ? Thanks

I always try to take my child as much as possible to places where there are other children. I rarely talk to other parents though. I feel bad that i can't befriend other parents so my child will find it easy to be liked by their children, but i really can't seem to do anything about that. I think though you have to make a special effort for your childs sake to take her places as it will do her some good in the long run.

I struggled taking my 2 year old playgroups but found a library group that did more singalong and rhymes rather than sitting for ages. Its only half n hour and I didnt have to talk to anyone but felt better I was letting him interact.
