Default How can they review a diary?

Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb but I don't understand how people can 'review' Courtney Love's diary-book.
I mean, if it were an auto-biography then maybe it'd be different but she didn't write it as a book, it's just letters, diary entries, cinema/bus/train/gig tickets and photos in a book.
Surely reviewing her book is like reviewing her as a person?

It's either interesting, or it's not.

You read the review to find out.

Technically anything written down can be treated as literature and reviewed. The posts on this board could be reviewed...

If she is publishing it for personal profit then it's open to criticism (or praise). She wasn't forced to offer it up to the public.

Reviewed for the quality of the content, the same as any other literature. Most celebrities don't write or even read thier own autobiographies these days, ghost writers produce them.

I was gonna say "Why on earth would you want to read someones diary?" when i noticed the Kenneth Williams' Diaries sitting on my book shelf.

There not reviewing CL the person, just the book she's published. As my learned others have pointed out, it's still literature and will be treated as such.
