Yeah, I was really impressed with rogue one, I would give it 9.5/10, but then I'm a starwars fan. All other films I've seen seem crap in comparison to be honest

Trainspotting 9/10, really good but a few scenes that made me wince.

"Enemy" - 7/10.

A rather odd tale of a mild mannered University professor who accidently stumbles across his own Double/Doppelganger playing a bit part in a movie he's watching.

Its a rather strange film and feels a bit "Cronenberg like" in nature (especially with its Canadian setting)

Perfectly watchable and decent.

Would that be the "Toilet" or the "Pub Glassing" scenes by any chance?

^ I was alright with the "pub glassing" scenes actually, but yes the "toilet" and the "sheets at breakfast time" got me.

^ Incidentally I watched Trainspotting last night (Channel 4, a channel I very rarely give more than five seconds of view time!) in light of the upcoming sequel's hype getting me intrigued. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but alas the "sheets at breakfast time" and "toilet" scenes also induced my cringe levels somewhat! And genuinely having to turn on subtitles... (don't hate me.)

Only 4? The big reveal at the end wasn't great...and didn't make much sense logically...and I didn't like how it became this romance drama. I thought the scenes trying to communicate with the aliens and work out some common language were clever though.

La La Land - a colourful, joyous film, with very catchy songs. I don't think it's like Casablanca though! (which it borrows from blatantly) 8/10

Yeah I liked the first half with the communication but the second half not so much.

I loved La La Land though

If you had problems with the movie, best not ever try to read the Trainspotting novel!!

Arrival - 8/10 Excellent, bit more thought provoking than typical sci if films.

Split - Enjoyable but daft. Made me want to go back and watch a load of M. Night Shyamalan films. They aren't especially good, and they usually fall apart if you start thinking about them, but I'm sure I remember enjoying the ones I've seen (even The Happening) Might skip The Last Airbender though.

Bone Tomahawk - Very well made and acted, but oddly paced. It goes: interesting, things are kicking off, NOTHING SIGNIFICANT HAPPENS FOR AGES, oh eh up what's going on now, ARGH, end.

That must've been the best school day ever. I remember one time someone brought in From Dusk Till Dawn and somehow the class was allowed to watch it right through (or at least an hour's worth) God knows what the teacher was thinking.

Haha, yes! The last 20 minutes were incredibly tense and somewhat shocking - I felt a little faint during some of the choppy choppy scenes.

^ Yeah, it was some of the more disturbing stuff I've seen in a film in a long time. The... choppy bits, and the women Probably made more effective by not a lot happening for the previous 90 minutes.

Brimstone & Treacle (the one with Sting)

I knew the title, but didn't know what it was about, just that it was a play and I enjoy plays. Dearie me, it was dark.

'Valerie, you are an extremely salacious and corrupt Jezebel... and thank you very much.'

Now I really want to dive into those old Play For Todays.

Weird film not sure Dwayne Johnson's charecter worked and the storyline as a whole. The only good thing was Kevin Hart.

I've been umming and ahhing about whether I should force myself to the cinema alone (eek!) to see T2. Maybe I won't and wait for it to be available online. I loved Trainspotting when it came out so i'm probs going to be one of the disappointed.

Split. 1/10

A long, boring bloody film. Spent £20 on the cinema for that, what a disappointment. (Probably more upset about the price I paid tbf)
