Hello fellow sufferers
Hi everyone,
I've been reading a few threads here recently and I recognise so many of the problems. I understand completely what it's like, and my heart goes out to you all and I really wish the best for everyone. I'm working on getting better myself at the moment. I need some advice, but I'll post that in a different thread, I just wanted to introduce myself first. I'm 35, male, and no stranger to SA. I was medicated for it in my early 20s, which helped a bit, but was no long-term solution. I've just read the symptoms for AvPD on this site, and I have to say, that's me, bang on. Pretty much every point is YES! I sort of view AvPD as a different flavour of SA, though. I work from home, which is something I'm forever grateful for, but it does mean that I often see or speak to no one for days or weeks at a time. And I get very lonely and want to talk to people, but I constantly avoid doing so for fear of rejection. If I do nothing, I'll carry on being lonely until the day I die, which is almost as bad as being rejected (almost). I want to somehow turn that around. So, hi, lovely SA people! I hope to spend some time in your company and feel slightly less lonely. bluegrey |

Phew, at least my intro-post-gets-no-replies fear was unfounded. Thanks for the welcome guys, this place has been useful to me already!
