That's unfortunate, Bix. Does it not help to eat something with it or after to neutralise the effect?

^^ Weirdly, I'm the other way, I react more to white onion than to red (not enough to keep me from eating either though - usually finely chopped). Soaking the chopped or sliced onion in balsamic vinegar seems to work for me (and I like the flavour).

^ &^^ a squeeze of lime can help with white onion because it sort of cooks the onion without heat. I steer clear of raw red onion though because it’s always an uncomfortable after experience

I'm looking forward to getting my butt kicked tomorrow by my new boss lol

We were done by 10pm (started at 8pm) and were told that once we were done we could go.
So we did lol

6 hours 45 minutes of work left until I get one whole day off.

Been seven 12 hour nights in a row. I'm exhausted.
We had nothing scheduled for tonight so I thought easy night and maybe early finish.

Nope. Just the casual twice the amount of work we've done the last few nights haha

I had plans for tomorrow to do things but instead I will just sleep all day and night I think.

^^ Now that would be a good meet.

I've bought Groupon vouchers to do that three times and had them refunded three times because of not being able to find a suitable date.

^^ I've thought once or twice about suggesting an alpaca walking meet, as it happens! They live just up the road from me.

Spending Xmas in Scotland. Makes a change for me, especially since I haven't left the country to go anywhere for years...even if it is only Scotland

^ Ooh! Where in Scotland are you going? I love it up in the Highlands. I've only been once but it was unbelievably beautiful.

I will very soon be spending Sinterklaas in the Netherlands with my OH's fam.

Edinburgh. Apparently a lot going on there during this time of the year due to upcoming festivities. Where did you go?

Is 'Sinterklaas' Dutch for Christmas???

I couldn't quite get into Curb. Although there have been some great scenes over the years, but I can only appreciate it in certain chunks.

It's times like this that make me think of Spud. Hope he's doing ok! I'm also sorry I can't give you what Spud used to give you! Seinfeld/Curb quotes that is. Although if things ever do become hot and heavy, then I would highly recommend saying "Serenity Now!" as your money shot! And talking of money shot, you might have noticed that I have been courting Merritt recently. But don't worry, I still have plenty in my tank to ignite those flames of passion!

As for what else I'm looking forward to. Vegetable lasagna! I'm having it for my dinner!

Hmm that's worthy of a bit more analysis.
Have you seen similar stuff Seinfeld, Larry Sanders show ?

Admittedly Curb has declined in quality in recent seasons.
And there is the 'stress' element of shows like Curb. Watching things go wrong for the main character constantly, the inherently bad timing of events, though resulting in hilarity, can jab at your sensitivities like pins in your eyes. All which is cortisol city.

Maybe me, you & Spud meet up in a car park, eat crisps in our cars and watch Curb on our individual phones. The community car park environment feel could make it a much more pleasant watching experience.

That's a very good analysis, Genovese! Curb has an amazing edge to it! But like you said, it can be a bit too much at times. Whereas Seinfeld is sort of like a cosy show to watch. To name but a few, I can watch the Chinese Restaurant, Busboy and The Jacket episodes repeatedly. The same can be said about Larry or Frasier. You may not always climax when watching them, but you still get a nice warm afterglow afterwards.

Which brings me to Spud! Who knows when he will return? Personally I thought both of us were enough to keep him on the forum. It just goes to show! Although I do have a plan! Which involves persuading Merritt to change his name to Spud! But that's not all! I also need to persuade Merritt to show an interest in laundrettes. Possibly car parks as well! Then it will be back to the good old days!

Disclaimer:

I'm a big fan of Merritt! Who of course is a long standing and respected member on this forum. So long standing and respected that I think this forum was built around Merritt!

Cosy, yes.
Cosy & comfort.

Ahh the Chinese restaurant.
Cartwright! Cartwright!

The sheer stress of him not getting to use the phone was so tangible.

You know.

^ it’s been a while since I’ve been, but I think the prizes are usually vouchers for food at the place. Yum. One quiz I go to gives a prize to the losing team as well haha. They often do themed quizzes. It’s quite a nice one because you pay a pound per person and half of the money goes to a local homelessness charity.

Tonight's theme was The Early 2000s. They never seem to let you know the theme until just before which I guess stops anyone swatting up! There was a bonus round where we had to make and decorate a paper aeroplane and see which flew the furthest

We came second we had the highest points, then another team got five bonus points for having the best name so they beat us. We won a voucher to spend on food

Sounds good T
I've booked Blackpool as well, just a few days at a B&B, hopefully the weather will be good when I eventually get there.

It's a while away, but I love booking the time off work part,
Just knowing I'm guaranteed a break from work makes me go "ahhhhhh"
