Bug with user titles

Recently there has been a bug in the forum software that prevents us from setting a member's user title to 'banned at own request' - it keeps defaulting back to 'banned'. This means that people who have requested a ban appear just the same as people who have been given a ban for breaking the rules.

This has caused some confusion so I thought I'd let you all know. Hopefully we can fix it soon.

When you customize a user rank (i.e. put 'at own request' on the end), you have to open a drop-down box in the Admin panel and select something like 'user title set by admin' (or words to that effect) before saving the setting or it just reverts back to default. Are you sure you're doing that?

I have no idea, I'm not an admin and can't mess around in the engine room. Hopefully that's all it is.

It does sound like that might be the problem because it used to catch me out at times too.

What about the privacy settings glitch (whereby private profiles were showing up as public when banned at own request), has that been fixed yet?

Nah, just a blank box. As David says, Admins can enter a new one if necessary, though.
