I'm thinking that if my family could be replaced with empathetic robots, it would probably be a big improvement. They aren't nice people.

I'm thinking I've sort of..give up

Theres a lot of things I won't have in my life/can't have. Theres a lot of things I don't seem to be able to force myself to do, I put everything off I possibly can (One thing is the fact my car is 4 months late for a service which was part of the finance agreement so I'm probably going to get a bollocking for that).

I have no real motivation or energy, I toy with handing in my notice at work on a daily basis but having a job is about the only thing I "do" even if it exhausts me and makes me miserable but the thought of trying to get something else is dreadful

I have no desire to "get out there" I feel borderline agoraphobic at times, if its not going to work or walking the dog when its quiet - I'm not really going out at all and I'd rather not.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the future (and all of it will be awful - I have nothing to look forward to..just getting older and having people around me die)

On a day to day basis though, I don't really feel depressed - actually being depressed feels like it would require some effort. I generally feel "ok" I just plod along, maybe more apathetic?

I do however hate work has turned me into a morning person - no one in their right mind should be wide awake by 5am on Sunday

^ I heard there was some legal issues about him trying to poach some big streamers for a competitor to Twitch, but I don't know if there's any truth to it. I saw that clip though and something definitely seemed off about him, assuming it wasn't in character (I've only watched a bit of him, found his shtick kind of obnoxious. Most streamers I watch tend to be quite laid back sorts)

What with the unemployment crisis unfolding, I suppose I'll be waiting another year to start/resume my life. I'm feeling a 'life theme' of 'endless postponement'. Perhaps I will use my time to learn something useful. Will house prices decline? Will they ****. They never do.

^ Skittles you are well liked in the chat room, people often ask after you if you've not been in for a while.
I do understand though, I often think people hate me and don't want me around and it's very difficult to be persuaded otherwise when you're feeling like that.
I hope you stick around

Who told you that?

You need to come in chat more skittles not less.

I really can just talk about films, TV shows and video games. Other than that my range of things to talk about is pretty limited.

The noise of anything revving up makes me into a total nervous wreck. Ever since we had a horrendous Family move into the street a few years ago and we all had to endure weeks and months of them revving and working on their vehicles day and night. Thankfully the council had so many complaints about them that they got moved on later that year but they have certainly left scars on me.

Now whenever i hear a revving / speeding vehicle i literally can be shaking with nerves. I do totally sympathise for people who have to put up with it every day of their lives. It really does wear you down.
Groups of Boy racers gather in the car park below the Tower block I live in doing exactly the same. Revving up their engines, Handbrake turns, speeding etc. Made worse by the fact that they tend to drive those cars that pop hiss and bang randomly!!

They dont live locally (Ime not even sure if they all live in this city), and this goes on every Friday/Saturday night and has been going on for years. Police have been informed but they do nothing about it.

Youre right when you say that it wears you down, so you have my sypathies.

One of the few bonuses of lockdown was that these characters disappeared, so its been easier to sleep the last 3/4 months. but there are signs that they are starting to return alas.

Damn selfish assholes!!

I don't dislike you, tbh, people just misunderstand sometimes; personally a persons popularity never meant much to me and people like you I relate to more than other more popular people, even if it's a bad thing I mean I can relate to the suicidal thoughts and feelings anyway.
I know life is difficult but there are ways forward you never even knew were possible. It may just be words, but it's what I think.

Apparently my washer dryer needs to take in water from the supply to dry stuff.... whaaat?
At least that's what Google reckons. The water supply is off here for some reason, and I can't dry my clothes because of it...

^ In the old days the water was to run the condenser. Hot air dries your clothes and the condenser dries the resulting air so it doesn't have to have a vent.

I hope newer ones are not so wasteful of energy.

Seeing lots of people deleting their Facebook. I can definitely understand why they’re doing it. I wish I could.

I’m close to deleting it, for many reasons. It’s a creepy company, putting it lightly! I also think it’s damaging for comparing your lives with others.

But I’ve joined lots of Groups - they are really useful to know what’s going on in the local area, and for volunteering work and jobs etc. That’s probably the reason why I can’t leave it yet!

^ I tried to find Retrocomputing groups on Facebook but most of them seem to be for buying and selling stuff and they all seem quite unfriendly compared to any of the forums that are still around.
Besides I never post on Facebook any more because I have nothing to share about my life.

Well, at least I live near the top of the Tower Block so the noise isnt too bad ! The local residents have made lots of complaints but the police simply arnt interested.

It could easily be solved too, simply by closing the car park they use between 1130pm and 6am every night. Almost nobody uses the car park at night (except the halfwit noisemakers) anyway. Its been suggested to the local council but they refuse to do it. Of course theyd still use nearby roads to make their noise even if the car park was closed, but it would be less annoying, than it is now

But ho hum, such is life....

^^ I know that feeling all too well, and is partly why I can't bring myself to even try writing any more. I find the self-criticism excruciating. Even when I think it's good, is it actually good? Am I just feeling the buzz of actually finishing something and not completely hating it (at least yet)?

Having said that, I wouldn't recommend anyone allowing their brain to work like mine does. I reckon if you're proud of it, that should be enough. You could get someone else's opinion, but won't that be just as easy to dismiss as your own? We've probably all reacted to praise by thinking, 'Yeah, but are they just being nice?'

Maybe i should pick someone that knows their stuff that doesn't like me. That way if they gave positive feedback i'd know it was genuine even if begrudgingly so, and would be less inclined to give me negative feedback out of sheer grudge holding due to having hopefully some sense of literary scruples and take the writing itself at face value.

It's hard to articulate as i believe that anything creative once away from the individual that made it is open for the beholders own personal interpretation whether thats the original intention of the artist/author/composer or not. It kind of takes on a life of its own. That being said, its easy for me to say that its good because i know the train of thoughts that happened before it/to get there. It makes sense to me where as it might not make sense to a stranger and then a prologue might help it make sense but influence their initial interpretation.
I might just post it anonymously under a mysterious pseudonym/pen name like alan smithee as a nod to disowned films. That way it has the freedom to be terrible
