I acquired my first piano student today!!! I've been meaning to start teaching piano for literally years but have shied away from it. Practically everyone I know doesn't know what all the fuss is about, but I know fellow SA sufferers will appreciate how big a deal this is for me. I'm so happy. Nervous, but happy

^ That's great Cheshire cat
Hope it goes well, it must be wonderful to be able to play an instrument so well that you are able to teach others.
I have owned a guitar for over ten years but never had the courage to find a teacher, books just aren't the same as one to one tuition.

^thanks D1662!

Why don't you find a teacher if it's something you've been meaning to do? I'm sure you'd find your technique improves very quickly as the oral tradition is still the best way of learning, as the online tutorials can't communicate what a real person can. Good teachers can solve in 1 lesson technical problems that we may have been making worse, because practice isn't always about how much, but how. You don't have to, of course, and lots of guitarists are self-taught, but if it's something you've thinking about, why not give it a go? You don't have to go back again if you don't like it!!

^That's great, Jinny

Today, I sent in the final assignment for my first OU module, so that's a huge weight off my shoulders.

I've also asked a friend/acquaintance about whether his line manager received a CV I sent. Not so easy for someone who very rarely sends messages to anyone.

I returned an item to the shops,I normally ask my mum to do it as I'm worried they will say I can't return something.

In saying that, I would rather climb them, than spend a night in Methil. :P

^ Well done Eloise it's rough when you get stuck in for long periods.

This weekend I climbed Snowdon. I've not climbed anything before (bar the odd fence) so I was pleased to learn this was a thing someone like myself could do.

I also chose what was apparently the hardest route up. The reason for that remains unclear.
