Holy Moly, Mother of sleep. I needed that! I was exhausted last night. Might even take the dog for an early morning walk. Just a little concerned he might run away after some early morning creature lurking in the woods.

Well, I had my UC assessment yesterday and to my surprise received the decision today. They put me on the LCW group. So basically means I will be required to meet with a work coach each month and also attend courses.

Not great but I suppose by trying the courses I can gauge how I will cope in these situations. Really not looking forward to them though. I can't imagine the courses being any use to me but I will try and be tolerant and see what comes of it.

^ Oh well done for going and getting it over with . LCW is like ESA Wrag I guess?

You might not end up going as often as you think. I had my Wrag work coach appointment and he was like see you in 3 to 6 months (he mentioned how short staffed they were so didn't give me an exact date). It also wasn't just about courses but mental health support so he discussed whether I knew about Pathfinder etc... Though he also brought up the Health to Work programme which is DWP - I decided to give that a wide birth (it's run in my area by Maximus) as it's not mandatory .
It's more them checking that your engaging with something that's appropriate to your health issues. Or that's how it should be....

Any courses I was offered on JSA were all online tbh.

I don't know what to think about it to be honest, Mo. All last week I thought I could cope with work and since getting this decision, I feel really apprehensive about it. I obviously don't like the idea of being stuck on benefits but I can't see many jobs I could cope with. And that makes me nervous.

Anyway, just have to see how I get on.

I haven't heard of Pathfinder, what's that?

No I don't like being on benefits either. But at least it can give you some breathing space to maybe try some volunteering or see what the mental health team has to offer I guess.

Pathfinder is a bit complicated, and difficult to explain!. It's an initiative where local charities have all signed up to with the local NHS trust and have the ability to refer people to different things including things like health professionals without having to go through a GP. So MIND were able to refer me to a dedicated CPN on there pathfinder network for a max of 6 sessions (though I can be immediately re referred or as with me she may refer me to a CMHT psychologist - though with no guarantees I will be accepted). I needed no GP, and there's no massive wait. This probably sums it better than me https://www.pathfinderwestsussex.org.uk/about-us

Other counties seem to have a different name for it and i'm not sure if all counties have it. I do know Sussex is the only county to use a social rather than medical model. Hopefully other counties are watching and learning!

There may be something similar near you, though if your waiting for a care co coordinator it's probably not worth it for you

^Sounds like a good idea, particularly given how useless some GP's are (not mine).

Yeah, it seems to be a step in the right direction in terms of mental health. I have a totally ineffective GP

^^^^I read an article on the independent, bearing that in mind, and from how quickly they made a decision after my assessment, I get the impression you have to be suicidal, abusing drugs and alcohol, or hospital bound for them to automatically put someone in the LCWRA group.

I mean, I even came out of the assessment thinking god, she must think I am badshit crazy, obviously not crazy enough.

Yeah, just see what happens with MH team along with what the work coach has to offer. It might actually be useful having that little push back into work.

Whatever will be, will be, Mo

Yeah it does seem to be that way. At my tribunal they went through a list of Wrag tasks some are as simple as making a list. If you can do that apparently this means your Wrag. Like you say to be in the support group (though I was previously) you appear to now need to be actively psychotic or in a coma.

Aye, I guess that's true

Thanks to Tory fanaticism even being in a coma won't keep you out of WRAG. They're convinced that if you can breath, you can work.

Just a quick thank you to anyone who's replied to my more serious posts recently Don't want anyone to think I don't appreciate it, I just don't like dredging them back up when they're buried away in a thread. Thanks for being lovely.

I've got to stop buying old home computers off ebay. It's a compulsion. I just got an Acorn Electron to go with the Amiga, Spectrum and Elektronika Bk-0010 I never use. I have turned into a collector.

It's ok I'm getting my revenge by sticking my gearbox into sport mode when its really not necessary but it does makes fairly satisfying noises (probably not too satisfying to the neighbours)

Better weather makes me feel worse, suddenly everyone's out doing shit and I feel I should be doing the same, except I can't be arsed. I need to move somewhere where the weather is never good so I can hibernate most of the year in peace.

I had to reread that after you said about feeling guilty because i thought you had deliberately not told anyone that the shops would be closed and withheld that info .....

So you just feel guilty for wanting a roast? O_o How do live with yourself!
