Was a good match shame Murray couldn`t quite do it , if he could have taken one of the break points in the second set it might have been different but once the roof went on and they came back out Federer was just too good. Hope he can win a grand slam one day but with Federer , Nadal and Djokovic to beat its going to be tough.

I was so disappointed Andy Murray didn't win. It seemed like the perfect time, considering it's the jubilee year, and the last Brit to win Wimbledon, Virgina Wade, also won in a jubilee year.

But Federer did deserve it. He played so well. Murray looked tired and he kept slipping over. I felt bad for him, I think he needs some time to recover.

About the result I expected (even if wouldn't have been that surprised if it was different). Grass is Federer's surface as shown by the 7 wins (even if he still bloody good elsewhere) and no real shame in losing to someone who has only lost the one final on it. He certainly earned his win rather than it being thrown away.

Before this year I did wonder if Murray had the mental game to win one after never really competing in his previous finals but after his semi in the Aus and final here, he might be turning the corner in that regard. Though it'll still be hard for him to win one with them three around but he still a step above the rest (shown a bit by Ferrer/ Tsonga games to get there). At least he has the coach who knows exactly what it'd be like to lose 4 finals.

Curious question at some of the Fed fans in here, if the final was Murray vs someone else would then you want him to win for being a Brit or not? Myself I'd like to see him do well due to that but not exactly a fan of any player in particular, all seem to have things I like and dislike about them so apart from the Brit thing I tend to watch most games as a neutral (not surprising really as I don't have say favourite players when it comes to football).

And there's always some people who can make a thread like this into a basement like topic. I undestand the point you are making but i think you were being overly dramatic esp. with the BNP reference.

I phrased my original post as I did because I had heard it discussed on the radio. They were speaking of how the media flick between him being Scottish or British.

My apologies if I have offended anyone, it was not my intent.
