Alcohol - Hows Your Morning After? - Cathartic Musings
Hi all.
I really appreciate the opportunity of being able to get the perspective of like minded souls and having this place to do so. This might have been covered but I'm interested in others thoughts on feelings the morning after consuming alcohol. I only drink at the weekend. More and more though I wake up and its like any positiivity I have about life has evaporated. My negative side runs wild...Telling me my life is not going anywhere, I feel guilty for such small matters and I can barely answer the phone. Three days later I'm feeling better when the dark cloud is gone. I feel gullible for ever belieiving that negative chatter yet again. It really seems to exacerbate my SA symptoms. Symptoms that I have been much more able to manage (or bury) now I am a lilttle older (35) but the way I feel the morning after, I am back to square one for the day! You'd probably advise me to quit altogether and you'd probably be right! Can I ask you, does it affect you in this way? Jonjo |

Drink does create the symptoms that it alleviates and this creates the cycle of dependency doesnt it.
Interesting you get the same thing BFG. I cant communicate or look people in the eye. I get tense and jumpy. I'm hyper aware about it because I saw a relative die of alcoholism. I love the feeling of being drunk sometimes Kate. 'Nowts the bother' But pretty soon the 'postcard from doom' is in the post! I suppose its a good thing I do suffer as I'd probably be drinking every day! |

When I used to drink, I was very rarely 'ill' as such the day after.
I just used to feel 'blurred' all day which felt really peculiar as if in a dream state. Im so glad that I dont drink now. Mark. |
