Nah I tend to have a problem with the forking it into the middle at the beginning, I seem to be cooking it too quickly I guess, so it's a bit lumpy(ish). I keep reading you should fold it whilst in the pan but mine's often stuck a little and I get impatient and tear it. I think basically I'm cooking it too hot/fast and probably in the wrong size and type pan. Tbf I only ate and cooked my 1st omelette after the age of 30 It simply didn't exist in my childhood, oddly. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^^ "Forking it into the middle" < what on earth.. ??
Definitely less heat: try it on the lowest setting. Also, how old is the pan? If the teflon surface thingy is knackered/scratched then it'll get stuck. You don't necessarily have to buy a new pan, just try a little more oil (unless the pan is truly buggered). I'm not sure about the folding as you heat, i've never tried that. I love omelettes. I think the first that i cooked was post thirty yrs old |

^^
Everywhere I read about omelettes I read about this forking into the middle. I was watching this the s'morning and he does it too!! the pan isn't that old, It's copper bottomed and non stick but not teflon (I don't think). |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
Ah, i see what you mean - nah, i just leave it to cook, untouched. When the surface starts to solidify, it's done, start prying it off the pan from the edges, gently. Your pan sounds fine, i meant non-stick but said teflon instead.
As he said, you'll pick it up in no time, don't let first efforts put you off. |

The 'brother' one was the only one they had. The 'mother' one has a decent design, but .. the best part of seven quid for two bits of card, it's daylight robbery!
Why would you be scared? I'd put you at complete ease with my nervousness and stilted conversation. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
^^ In all fairness, the better ones we have are like £3.50ish. It's fairly standard these days, I think.
Because you're a person, and a person that knows me from here - and that's even worse. Not that I'd be able to identify you, at least not before noticing the nervousness, stilted conversation and faint smell of potato. |

Still, it's a bloody disgraceful amount to charge.
Hahaha, just as well i've already got them then! I'll bear it in mind that you sell cards for next time... and i won't bother showering, so you'll know it's me |

Family businesses. Argh. I have to go in to work on days where I have nothing (literally nothing) to do, just to sit there and be bored (whereas when the same applies to mum she has the day off). And the response to asking for time off is 'I guess so...'. And that I won't be paid - this is despite my mum always paying herself when she has time off.
Can't wait until I can quit my job. One more year x.x |

My dad ringing me to tell me he received a phone call from someone he can't remember, by a place/company he can't remember, to sort out something to do with tax that he can't remember. Can I do something?
Err not really.... Think i'm going to have to take out power of attorney or the like before things get worse. Now explaining this to my dad .............*sigh* |

This humidity at the moment, BBC weather says it's 98% humidity where I am currently, I think it's training me for Sri Lanka where I'm going in a couple of weeks which is a tropical and very humid climate, it's just so draining

^ Yeah, looks like it's not quite as bad in the south east and I'm not sure whether it actually as high 98% here (it says 96% observed at 12, but lower in the forecast for today), but it's still a bit unbearable and I'm even finding it slightly difficult to breath

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
Family businesses again. Mum having day off but telling me I've got to make sure everyone is busy all day. If she was there she would be taking off half the day anyway. We don't have much to do at all and I'm not going to spend all day standing nagging people to make sure they're always busy. She wouldn't do it and it would make everyone bloody miserable and grumpy all day. If you're leaving me in charge at least have the decency to trust me.
So want to quit. Argh. |

Re: Small things that annoy you (3)
I've recently moved the rowing machine into the garage and noticed that i'm leaning, quite a bit, to the right hand side on the pull back. I know this now because i've inadvertently placed it so that i'm rowing in front of a small/beer fridge and can clearly see my reflection all the time in the glass front panel
It's put me off rowing, cos i feel like i'm doing it wrong. I had a slight suspicion before when i'd notice the chain not lining up and 'wobbling' - it's difficult to explain really .. and boring. Anyway, it's a pain in the arse and makes me wonder whether i have an imbalance in my physicality OR maybe the rowers out of kilter. It's an expensive bit of kit to replace just like that and i've no access to another one. I could ask someone to get on and then see whether they lean too ... I could pack in the wanking for a while, give that a go.. it's the cheaper option. |
