Paul Pogba was excellent when he came on tonight for United, didn't give the ball away once. Hope we give him some more playing time, which will probably be in the Europa League. There's only so much more I can take of Giggs and Park in the centre of midfield.

The thing is, if Savic hadn't have given you that goal then you wouldn't have been in it at all. We would have been comfortable and got a couple more, we didn't the game panned out another way. No point in being bitter because things didn't go your way.

City lost tonight and I admit they were poor.

Saha to Spurs is a strange one, even if it's on a free transfer. He looks world class for about one game every 2 years then gets injured. I've heard that he looks awesome in training but doesn't produce it in games often enough.

I would love to see Pienaar come back the other way but it looks like that won't happen now. £5.5mil spent today on Jelavic - thats the tranfer budget gone for another 3 years probably!

What a job Chris Hughton's doing at Birmingham. They're on fire at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up as champions.

I agree, felt like Scholes, Pogba & Carrick were just passing it (or more than just passing for Pogba) around Stoke for fun at the end, though Valencia still the player on fire atm.

As for City, remember we play Chelsea, Liverpool, Norwich, Spurs next in the league (only Scousers at home too), while you have a kinder run of games on paper at least.

Just seen Assou-Ekotto's hair at tonights game. I think Harry is using him as some sort of mule hiding his money in it.

It's a short term signing and quite a shrewd one, why pay completely over the odds for an average striker? To get a world class one would mean breaking transfer records. Saha is a good fit and will basically be a replacement for Ade, I don't think he will stick around after this season and is merely a band aid.

Top man and he deserves a fair shot at a premier league season. It wouldn't surprise me if he came back to Spurs in a couple of seasons, he is creating a nice little resume for himself.

Assou is just representing. When Arsenal don't play, the Premiership is lacking an African with terrible hair, pretty sure there is a clause in Sky's contract, stating that there must be at least one African player with a terrible haircut to be shown on the highlights package. Apparently Rupert Murdoch finds it arousing.

Spurs have brought in Ryan Nelsen, heh, bargain basement for Spurs this window but a Kiwi is playing for Spurs! This pleases me. With Bassong going out, he becomes becomes the 5 CB and like Saha, is more of a cheap stopgap...

Pav is gone :'(. I am going to miss Super Pav, he was lazy, couldn't hold up the ball, was slow, couldn't pass and was stupidly greedy but he scored some cracking goals.

Question: Has any player been offside on more occasions than Adebeyor the past 4weeks of the season? I would hate/love to hear what Ron Atkinson would have to say about him...

Is he representing all on his own now?

Leeds Utd sacked Simon Grayson after 3 yrs in charge. Finally some stability in the club and doing well getting promoted and now 10th position in the Championship and they get rid of him.

I always liked Djibril (Lord of the Manor of Frodsham) Cisse.

A good player who had the misfortune of suffering an horrific broken leg where without prompt medical attention he could have lost the leg, it was that bad.
Great to see him still playing and scoring.

Been looking at this tonight. Horrific, truly horrific.

From what I gather it goes far deeper than football, though. It seems, apparently, that there was political influences at work too.

I had a feeling it might be political after what went on last year. Truly sad, how many innocents would be caught up in this, ones that were there just for the football.

The failure of the the FA to look at Ekotto's tackle against Wigan on Tuesday night and ban him, once again highlights the complete inconsistencies of the officials in this country.

This is coming from a Spurs fan, I don't want to lose our players to bans but that tackle was a bit of a shocker.

Thing is though it's not about whether the tackle he made was wrong or right but the matter is similar tackle's have gone punished therefore they must act accordingly the same for reasons of fairness. Two footed tackles are getting red carded more frequently now and although the rule may be a bit too strict as to what you can get away with the officials are at least being more consistant in punishing these sort of tackle.
I think on this occasions and on others the ref has said he saw the incident therefore as i am aware the FA will or cannot take any further action. The Balotelli tackle was not seen by the ref as they said so the FA could intervene. Its a bit of a crap rule but i think as always footballing bodies dont want to be seen undermining officials and changing their decisions.

True Ninja. But I'd rather we used up the good luck quota that's surely coming to us on a few cheeky offside goals or something

I have not seen Ekotto's challenge so I can't comment on that, but I do agree about the inconsistencies. Royston Drenthe's tackle against Micah Richards was a red card offence and could of resulted in long term injury, yet he only got a yellow card. Moyes knew it was a red card because he quickly subbed Drenthe after it.

He's supposed to be the most talented footballer to come out of the United academy since Paul Scholes. Though the fact they decided to let go of him speaks volumes about his attitude. Fergie wouldn't give up on him like that if he really thought there was a future for him as a player.

How someone can't sort their attitude out when they're talked about with such accolades by Man United and a lot of big names in football is beyond me.

I tend to avoid anything about United like the plague so I've not seen this guy play. I do recall on a Liverpool website posters commenting on him after he'd played Liverpool in, I think, the youth cup or a reserve game. Anyway, he was generally seen as a really gifted player with so much potential ... but as likely to end up in jail as he was to fulfil that potential. I didn't really read up on his back-story, but assumed he must have something of a troubled personal life, dodgy attitue or something. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how he goes. It's interesting that United have offloaded him despite him being billed as potentially a massive talent.

Also consider, we didn't just get rid of him but for such a talent, nobody was really interested, so others must have seen the attitude too. Only Newcastle other than West Ham tried to get him I think (at least they had a bid rejected).

Sounds like damaged goods and a big risk then?

It seems the racism in football issue is just not going to go away. A Man United fan has now been arrested on racism charges.
