I guess I will put this in here
well my mum just said something to me very sobering...
mums 69, dads 70 mums parents died when they were 73, my dads dad at 53 and dads mum at 96 (yay?) my mum just said that in 4 years time she will be the same age as her parents, so I need to go out and get some socialising sorted if I dont want to (maybe) be alone ..thanks mam (I do know this.) |

I know this feeling well unfortunately. It's SO much easier to put things off, if my parent dies right now I wouldn't be able to support myself, I must do something about it.

Mine are 66 this year and its been bugging me a lot
Neither are in great health. My mums dad died before he was 70 and my dads dad dropped dead in his 50's. The women seem to be doing better (Dad's mum was 85-86 and mums mum is still going at 88 but shes got a lot of issues now) Not that that really helps me I think most people seem to get over that ..elephant in the room by having their own families/kids to focus on. When you have zero interest in having your own family your parents might be all you really have. It aint half playing on my mind the last 1-2 years that I might only have them around for a few more years. |
