Nice one, Appear! There's got to be at least one fart tale in there.

^ Ta! We're not allowed to do fart jokes! No bodily functions, private parts, terrorism, killing, paedos... the list goes on. The tutor runs a club and gets involved in a lot of new act stuff and apparently it's mostly men talking about shitting and Prince Andrew, so it's off the cards. It's a shame given I once shit myself at a dog races.

That's bogus! You should do a lil fart when you're performing. "Whoops"

good job Billy Connolly and Frankie Boyle didn't sign up for that course,

that does sound amazing appear, seriously well done on sticking with it,
stand-up has probably got to be one of the most SA-inducing things I can think of.

Appear!!!!

I am in awe of you for wanting to do stand up! That to me would be like climbing Mount Everest! Very impressive! I hope it goes well for you!

Just out of curiosity, I don't suppose you would be willing to record your 5 minute set for the forum? It might even be great practice for you. I'm sure we will all be cheering you on if you did!

And who knows, maybe other members on the forum might take part. Like the great Kevin Costner once said:

Build that rubber chicken barn and they might cluck! Or something like that

I'm also sure that Genovese would be willing to take part! After all, there's more to Genovese than just being a mod/freelance security guard. For instance, he can do things with a rubber chicken like you wouldn't believe! He's like a RoboRubberChicken in my eyes!

Anyway, it's getting late and my innuendo seems to be increasing. So now seems like a good time to wrap this up. And again, I hope it all goes well for you! I also hope you're doing ok!

Well Genovese, it's been a good night! I appreciate it of course!

But for now, I need to take a break again. After all, Rome was not built in whenever they said it was built in. Or something like that

^ well done that's awesome, what a lovely feeling to have that moment where the SA subsides. I'm happy for you I've heard even non-SA folks can find those events stressful. Nice one

About a month or so ago I decided to stop drinking. I didn't drink too often (maybe three or four times a month) and never so much that I wouldn't remember anything, but I didn't like how I always relied on it to make social situations easier. It's been going okay so far. I've done a few things sober that I wouldn't have done before and they were fine (although I've realised how unpleasant bars and the city are at night when you're not drinking, and how annoying drunk people can be). Last week I was a plus one to someone's work/charity dinner thing and even though at times it felt awkward and uncomfortable, I managed to get through it and even had a good time overall. On one side of me was a chatty young woman who made quite a bit of effort in talking, so the dread I felt about having to sit next to a stranger quickly went away. Something I've just realised today is that I haven't had any of the cringe flashbacks that I usually would after going to something like that where I would have been drinking. Often I will have said or done something where I'm physically groaning at the memories of them afterwards, so it's nice to not have that. It feels like facing social situations like this sober might actually allow for getting comfortable with them in a way that doing them while drinking wouldn't.

I reached an arbitrary milestone by finally being able to do a pull up with an addition of 60kg around my waist (additional 75% of my bodyweight). For a while, 50kg pull up for 3 reps was my max, 55kg 2 rep max, 57kg 1 rep max. It's taken me over 4 years to go from 50kg being my 1 rep max to 60kg. After i pulled the 60kg successfully for the first time, honestly I felt 10ft tall.

My end goal is to be able to do a pull up with an addition of 100% of my bodyweight around my waist. Though, Im years away from that. For context, the last time I checked, the world record for weighted pull up was 110kg for 1 rep.

^^ that means you could basically pull up me - if I pretend I still weigh about 60kg (hint: I don't) and if you pretend you'd let me within 200m.

Impressive indeed. I struggle just hanging from monkey bars.

@chess&bestfood - gollygosh, it's bad enough doing it on Zoom. Stand up dies alone. I'll have to see how I do properly!

I can understand that you want to stand alone and see how it all goes Appear. Again, I think it's great that you are doing this! I'm certainly cheering you on that it all goes well for you! And who knows, maybe sometime in the future, you might find your way to the Rubber Chicken Barn Thread.

I will also work on the merchandise for you at a later date

Did a workout and think I will stick to the programme. I did the same one during covid, though it seems to have been updated.

It’s not a big deal really but after a month or so of not exercising. I noticed it made me feel like I have a fighting spirit or won’t give up. Idk whether or not that is a healthy or unhealthy thought? I think because of the nature of my work and how my environment has made me feel the last couple of months it has made me slack off on stuff like exercise. It’s am excuse but when I feel negative I procrastinate a lot. Pair that with long hours at times.

Maybe the fact I handed my resignation yesterday and my future job makes me more aware that social anxiety and autism are actually big problems make me feel like I might actually be moving forward. I need to be more proactive regarding my issues though and that can be tough.

My gran had terrible dementia, and it seems like my aunt has it too now. It's a horrible disease, not just for the sufferer but those who care for them. I just hope my mum doesn't get it too.

Well done Nanuq, that's a great achievement!

Well done Nanuq, that's a hell of a lot of walking, you should be proud of yourself.

With all that walking, have you noticed any change in your body composition?

And well done @Alone too.
