Default Sims 3

I am so dissapointed. Game is crap, so slow it's completely unplayable. I've uninstalled all I can and it's still stinking of shit.

Have you tried turning down the graphics? Unless you have a really naff PC, it should be at least playable at low detail.

There's nothing wrong the game itself. It's awesome.

Yeah, well I haven't had a chance to play it properly yet so from my view it's shit. I uninstalled loads before I installed Sims 3 so i'm pretty sure it's not my PC. I meet the requirements too. I'm installing a patch, whatever that is, and hoping it fixes it.

I was gonna suggest that. Have you checked your PC can run it (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/)? Have you turned off all the usual stuff (reflections etc)?

I forgot to say that i've turned down the graphics. They started off really low and it was still being slow then. Gonna try again though. (-:

I've been playing it a bit, ashamed to say that I prefer the way Sims 2 looks and plays! Of course I will give it a fair go, have just dabbled and messed around so far. Am far too enamoured with Sims 2 though

I can't tell if it was the patch that made Sims run a little faster or just cause I left it to load for a while. Either way it runs a little bit faster now but it still isn't great. At all.

What are your PCs specifications, Shani'? Minimum specifications for PC games are a joke. You need at least the recommended specifications to play the game at a basic level.

Looking at this you are a bit low on RAM (vista is a RAM hog!), an easy solution is the buy a 2gb* flash memory RAM stick and use the Vista ReadyBoost feature:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReadyBoost

Infact I reccomend this to anyone using vista and playing games with less than 4gb Ram installed. Even a crap computer can bonus alot from having more RAM.

Your graphics card should scrape by , it is a IGP (intergrated graphics processor) mounted on the main board (motherboard), I got the same one built into my system but I upgraded to a much more powerful GPU (graphics processor unit)

*nb

or any size above 4gb (gigabytes)

Your CPU is fine, but as Remus mentioned, you definitely need more RAM. There's no way you can play Sims 3 and run Vista at the same time. In fact, you can barely run Vista on that amount of RAM.

Your graphics are integrated, and are pretty mediocre. I'd buy more RAM, and see how it goes. If the game still runs poorly on low graphics, then I'd suggest buying a new graphics card.

right click desktop, select personalise, select Windows colour and appearance, select windows vista basic

I've been playing it a lot but I miss sims 2 (and my sims in it) the sim making sliders make my head hurt in sims 3, and building is so much harder.

someone on Amazon said the relationships were a bit weird. One of their sims had a fiance that wouldn't make out with them because they hadn't had enough social interaction?!

Heh yeah, everytime you want to do that stuff, you have to start with the lower down romantic stuff, like compliments, and work up to it... its rather annoying.
