What are your gifts?
What are your gifts?
It can be things you offer to others. It can be things you offer to yourself. For example it could be that you're kind to yourself and not overly self-critical (possibly the wrong crowd for that one ) You might make others giggle. You might be the voice of reason. What do you bring to yourself and others? |

Re: What are your gifts?
I have a gift of getting through a lot of managers 1 a year so far. Odd that once they become my manager they opt for early retirement.

Re: What are your gifts?
I have the gift of making everyone else feel better about themselves
For example, when I walk into a room, everyone else can say "At least I'm not that ugly" or "at least I'm better dressed than him" and when I start speaking, they can say "At least I'm not that boring" I serve a very valuable function in society |

Re: What are your gifts?
^ I read that first sentence and nodded along in agreement, even did a YOL (yep out loud) because you do help people to feel better about themselves. (Although, not in the way you went on to say! )
Then I did a NOL (no out loud) at the second part of your post. You have the gift of wanderlust! I'd love to travel and explore the world like you do. |

My farts,
They are incredible things, Most of them are so potent, you could probably make a good pot of soup out of them, I should go to a soup kitchen and feed the hungry |

Re: What are your gifts?
^^ Thank you for your YOL at the first part - I do try to make people feel better about themselves (and not just with my self-deprecating humour ). I also believe that I have the gift of empathy (but I don't claim to be an empath - I meet people who do claim that and so far, it's been clear that none of them actually have been), largely because I have been on the planet long enough to have experienced a variety of situations, which makes it easier to relate to others.
As for the wanderlust, often I think this is more of a curse than a gift It can be obsessive at times (trying to get washing and packing done between trips can be a nightmare) - I would swap it all for having family and friends, but since that option isn't available, then at least it's better than succumbing to agoraphobia and isolation |

Re: What are your gifts?
I think I have a gift of empathy but sometimes I get it wrong. Especially with some groups of people.
I maybe make people feel better about themselves when I walk into a room (at least I'm not as weird as bluebear they think) |

Re: What are your gifts?
To be honest I find it difficult to be objective about these things. Which is why I find it easier when someone else can say it on my behalf:

*Glides across the forum with BFG* *BFG dips me like a Black&Decker Power Tool* *Glides across the forum with BFG* Anyway, what was the thread topic again? Oh, yes! I truly am the gift that keeps on giving! While also appreciating that you might need to save your receipt when it comes to returning me. |

Don't worry if you'd prefer not to answer, but what do you think it is specifically that is driving them away? Do you keep whispering "mollusks and crustaceans" in their ear at 3 minutes past every hour for a 9 hour shift? |

It doesn't take me/rest of my team long to work out they're not up to the role by which point I start asking them questions like "aren't you embarrassed by the work you've produced" or "are you going to do that job again?" There's a new one possibly starting next month....I give them about 3 months max. |

Re: What are your gifts?
^ I'm autistic screw that.
My current role is far to easy to bother with all the hassle managers deal with. Maybe when I'm older and struggle to do physical aspects of my job. |

I find that too, reading others easily and getting their number quite quickly. Being perceptive does feel like a curse at times. ^^ haha gotta love a little Tesco aisle bop along! |

Everything I thought was good turned out to be bad, at least for me.
