I'm spending it with my girlfriends family this year, but last year (and most years really) I was in your position and I dreaded it ... I may be escaping this year, but I'm still dreading the having to see them and exchange pleasantries at some point in early January.

The rest of the year I can hide away and not talk to them, but for christmas sake, I have to sit with them and pretend everything is ok. Rather fake and uncomfortable really.

Well just us (Mum, Dad and sister) plus gran this year. Aunt usually comes but she is off to Ireland over Christmas (Which for a 88 year old is a amazing feat!, although I do get sad sometimes knowing she isn't as well as she once was )

Last year was only Me, mum, step dad and brother. That was bad enough

I just spent the whole time thinking "have I spent enough time with them yet?... is it too soon to leave?"

This year I'm staying at my Mum and Stepdads' My big sis will be there too. Only thing is when I'm there I can't escape from them. They live in the middle of nowhere in cornwall. To go out would be a daytrip. There are tensions with my mum and sis too. I know it'll kick off. I hate confrontations
