Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
Never had what anyone would call a proper girlfriend. Anyone who did show interest in me either used me to get back at someone or wanted only one thing (in real life) or they thought about things after the intinal excitement that things couldn't go as far as boyfriend/girlfriend (on MSN twice), either through long distance or because of age and morals.
Anyone I do know in real life and on MSN (apart from the two mentioned above) is either in a serious relationship or does not wish to have a partner, so it isn't as much a fact that I can't attract women, it is just the other barriers that I have no control over that prevents me from having a partner (ie. women with partners, age, distance etc.). |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I was 17, hormones were running crazy and I fell completely and totally for her. We're still good friends now.
I often wonder if I'll find anyone else, SA and a lack of any kind of social skills makes the probability vitually nil I fear. |

Depending on how strictly you define "proper", either aged 25 or not yet.

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I've never really had a girlfriend.
I've never really met someone that seems to be interested in me (Or maybe I have but just don't know it). I blame that on where I live - what a shithole. I've onl ever talked to girls on MSN who pretty much said they would be interested in me...if they lived closer to me. I think it will be many years before I get one. |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
First girl i ever kissed was at the age of 12, wouldnt say that counts as a proper girlfriend though, more like a childhood love. I have not kissed a girl since, or actually went out with one...
but i am keeping my head high, there is a girl outhere i am bound to meet.. somewhere.... farway..... in an unkown place.... and like they say, you shouldnt really look for love, love will find you..!! mad |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I am 20 years old, and have never actually had a girlfriend.
I've been close - I have been asked out two or three times, but politely declined. Though I do want a girlfriend, I'm more than willing to wait for someone who's right for me. Guess I'm the living proof that beggars can be choosers, heh. |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I'm 24 and have never had a girlfriend, never even kissed a girl for that matter.
Closest I ever got was a girl I chatted to on msn who said she liked me but we never met and she soon disapeered. |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I'm sort of glad I'm not the only one that's never had a girlfriend. I'm younger than some of you. But still in the same boat I can't even remember the last time I had a hug from a girl ! Do you know what that feels like ?

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
First kiss at 8(yes it counts!)
First girlfriend at 12 Last girlfriend was......ummmm.....12. Kind of dated a girl last year but nothing ever came of it. Was hugged by a very lovely lady last year though, was so nervous at the time that i was unable to truly determine exactly how it felt. Plus someone else was watching us so i couldn't really savour the momment. Have decided recently to try and make an effort to find someone.People i know have convinced me that i can find someone special so i'm gonna go for it. |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
depends how you define proper girlfriend..
First time was at 16, but i suppose first proper girlfriend, in that it could have gone somehwere was at 18. It was my fault we split up and i've regretted in some ways ever since. Strange thing was i saw her on the street last year. She's married now.. I was INCREDIBLY jealous. Life is cruel...when you make stupid choices.... |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
Thanks for your feedback, was interested to see. It seems many of us havnt had many relationships, i suppose the obvious explanation is SA.
Personely i have kissed two girls, one when i was 17 and the other a few weeks ago on holiday. The way she held me made me feel so good, holding hands etc etc, but it left me wanting so much more. Now im home and we are staying friends, but its very hard to carry on when you see everyone in the outside world enjoying everything you have lost. As far as real girlfriends go, i have no experience, and with UNI in a few weeks, having no experience will make it hard when i do meet a girl. 'Love will come to those who wait' |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
16, but it was complicated (like all relationships), not really sure if it was 'proper' but we went to the same schoool and went out for a good few months.

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I'm 20 and never had a girlfriend. Never kissed or held hand or anything like that either. I've not actually done anything remotely intimate with the opposite sex.
I know at least one girl has been interested in me in the past year, while I've been at Uni. I just didn't realise it at the time. I met her one evening, and I thought she was just being friendly. A while later, after we've drifted apart towards the end of the Uni year, a guy who knows her told me that she really liked me but got frustrated with me because she didn't think I was interested in her in that way. Well, how the hell was I supposed to know!? I've never knowingly had any female interest before, so I'm very poor at interpreting signals it seems. It's made me wonder if members of the opposite sex have shown interest in me in the past, and I've not realised it. Anyway, that fact that I've never had a girlfriend doesn't bother me half as much as it used to. It's something I used to get really down about, that made me feel inadequate. But now, I really don't care any more. I'm involved in a few small projects that take up a lot of my time, so I don't have time to dwell on thoughts like this. Which is a good thing. Besides, I'm not the sort of person who would want to go out with someone just for the sake of it. Hell, I enjoy my personal space, I don't see the point in being involved romantically with someone unless I really enjoy their company. |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I'm 32, coming on 33 and I have never been in a relationship, ever. Used to be desperately ashamed of that. A few months ago I finally figured out that there's only one and only one reason why I haven't gotten a girlfriend, proper or not, yet - and that's SAD. So now I try not to get bothered about it.
The big worry, I find, is general lack of experience. I wouldn't know if someone was interested in me if they came up and hit me over the back of the head with a brick. And what exactly do you do when someone *is* interested? I haven't the foggiest! |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I've never had a boyfriend.
I don't mind. I'd rather have just a few special relationships than loads of casual ones. Came close once though. (And lived to regret it!) I find that there's too much pressure from peers to always do and say the 'right thing' for me to ever want to have a relationship with someone from my school. Which just leaves my social life out of school. Which isn't that huge to be honest! *Makes mental note to try and get out more in future* |

Re: What age did you get your first proper Girlfriend?
I met my boyfriend when i was 17 and have been with him ever since (almost 6 years!). I am soo greatful for him. I don't know what i would be like without him. He drags me out kicking and screaming if he has too!
I met him before my SA fully kicked in. Being my first boyfriend i fell head over heels for him, and unfortunately this had the effect of me socialising less and less with other people. I became too reliant on him, and in the long-term this increased my social anxiety. D'oh! How confusing is that! |
