Hi Martin
How do you cope with the anxiety?...I find it so hard just to function...let alone cope!

I also got SA in mid teens and have found it extremely debilitating to live with(I'M 45)...back then no computers and basically knowhere to turn....so cut long story short...abused alcohol, painkillers, had fits...wasted life due to lack of knowledge and help.

^ Good for you man. You're doing great. And, you haven't wasted your life. Plenty still to come. Good luck.

Although I feel that Ive achieved some stability in my life, I cant say im exactly happy. The anxiety I can cope with - im used to that by now. I just feel sad because there is so much in life that Im missing out on.

Can things get better? Maybe. Its just hard to see a way. Im not sure I really know how to grow as a person. Im used to a solitary life. I dont know anything else. Still, anything is possible

Take care
Hi, welcome to SAUK.
Yeah i understand it sucks to feel like you're missing out on stuff.

I think things can get better but it's our responsibility to improve things which makes change hard but not impossible.

Hi and welcome. My life is very similar to yours atm, but I don't really mind as it suits me for now as I also have depression. I think you are absolutely right in taking pleasure in the small things, it is often those small things that make the biggest difference.
