Girls On The Edge- documentary
This was on BBC 2 on Thursday night.
It was very sensitively done and I felt for the girls and their families, especially by how beaten down and worn out the parents looked. |

Re: Girls On The Edge- documentary
I watched it and it really struck home to me. There for the grace of God go I. I could so easily have gone down their path at the same age, I was mercilessly bullied at school and came close to having a melt down. I think it could well resonate with a few of the members on here.
It is a shame that they just concentrated on girls, as I'm sure there will be plenty of boys who are in the same situation. |

Re: Girls On The Edge- documentary
Thanks for letting us know about this programme Indiegirl, I watched it last night when I couldn't sleep, and it was certainly very enlightening, although pretty heartbreaking too.
I really felt for the youngsters who were struggling with their mental health issues and for their desperately worried parents looking on. I really hope that the girls are able to overcome their conditions, or at least manage them, and go on to lead happy and fulfilling lives. |

Re: Girls On The Edge- documentary
What struck me was- what did they do in the unit all day, other than go to therapy and watch TV I suppose. It wasn't made clear if they were able to keep up with their school work or have lessons, because I thought that might have helped, otherwise they would just have to repeat a year when they got out.
