Default Girls On The Edge- documentary

This was on BBC 2 on Thursday night.
It was very sensitively done and I felt for the girls and their families, especially by how beaten down and worn out the parents looked.

I watched it and it really struck home to me. There for the grace of God go I. I could so easily have gone down their path at the same age, I was mercilessly bullied at school and came close to having a melt down. I think it could well resonate with a few of the members on here.

It is a shame that they just concentrated on girls, as I'm sure there will be plenty of boys who are in the same situation.

Thanks for letting us know about this programme Indiegirl, I watched it last night when I couldn't sleep, and it was certainly very enlightening, although pretty heartbreaking too.
I really felt for the youngsters who were struggling with their mental health issues and for their desperately worried parents looking on. I really hope that the girls are able to overcome their conditions, or at least manage them, and go on to lead happy and fulfilling lives.

What struck me was- what did they do in the unit all day, other than go to therapy and watch TV I suppose. It wasn't made clear if they were able to keep up with their school work or have lessons, because I thought that might have helped, otherwise they would just have to repeat a year when they got out.
