Now I don't need to use the rental ones where the laces are all knotted and smell like wet dog.

We spent over £80 on food shopping today and still there's nothing in the freezer that's remotely appealing

Sorry that probably sounds really patronising!! But it's true. It's very difficult when you struggle socially and feel like you don't quite fit in. Don't give up, you'll find some kindred spirits -I'm sure a lot of the more introverted/social struggler people are probably in hiding. Wear a cat t-shirt and shake a packet of Dreamies to lure them out.
Yeah I'm doing ok, there are just odd moments where I feel crap. And that's the problem, the people who struggle socially are the hardest to find!

^ kooky Monster, regarding the 'non recognition aggression', I've been reading how cats rely much more on smell than sight to recognise one another. When a cat returns from the Vets it is going to smell very different to how the feline siblings left behind at home remember them.

I'm sure you've tried this already, but I've been reading how sometimes it helps to rub a blanket or cloth that your cats regularly come into contact with in the home all over the returning cat to transfer familiar scents.

Maybe having the cat who went to the Vets on your bed with you all night will transfer some of your comforting smells to him/her and make the others accept him/her again.

I think you should take your strange smelling feline to bed with you, Kooky Monster, and get some much needed sleep!

Hopefully they will all be friends again soon, if they know what's good for them. Cats can be such dummies

^ I was thinking something similar It's all about the smell, and I imagine they don't associate the smell of the vets with good things.

I've seen videos of people using nets to separate them, then they can approach and smell each other without engaging in fights.

Got a wedding to go to tomorrow in Bristol and I keep thinking about what excuse I could make so that I won't have to go. I don't really mind the eating and drinking parts too much, but the ceremony and waiting around parts are so boring and I've been to four other weddings this year already. I can't be bothered. Plus I've got to travel there in the morning, then come home early on Sunday morning because I've got things to do.

I've had my cat lying on the blanket from my bed in the living room since she got home but that doesn't seem to have transfered enough nice scents to her for the others to entertain her. She is part covered in liquid paraffin and though it's supposed to be odourless, I do wonder if my cats can smell it. Another thing - when hyper sensitive cat smells her, either on me or her own scents in the hallway, she spits like crazy but she needs some time out of the bedroom. It's so stressful for them and for me. I swear cats are just basketcases. I have some Feliway Diffusers coming today which I hope will calm things but I won't hold my breath with this lot.
They do sound nuts Any luck with the diffusers?

Self consciousness is the thought that you are doing something not quite how you should be. Its the idea that we just aren't doing something right- somethings wrong. But maybe there isn't? Maybe we just need to laugh back at these voices and say how is it possible to be 'the right' way?!

Self consciousness is the entanglement of societies ambiguous and flimsy tacit norms. We look at ourselves through the perceived analysis of ourselves from the eyes of others.

I was supposed to go and meet a lady tonight off a datibg site. I'm not going. My heart just isn't in it. Having got enough in me to give to anyone at the moment. It will only lead to emotional confusion, weighted shoulders and shuffling feet, and disappointment and regret, and doubt.

Shame really, I miss a lady's company.

@ Deer That's a pity about not feeling up to going on your date tonight. Maybe it will go a lot better than you think. I imagine she must be feeling nervous too. I mean, if you are already feeling pretty down and lonely what have you got to lose?

Btw, it's nice to see you back posting

Aye Consolida. I feel crap because I haven't even told her I won't be going! :/
It isn't because I'm nervous about it or anything. Its just it was a rash decision and I just don't feel a click with her. And the idea of just doing it for the sake of that I can't get with someone I like just caught up to me, tapped me on the shoulder and said come on man, wtf are you playing at, sunnyjim!

^^ If you didn't feel any kind of chemistry with your 'date' online then I don't blame you for not wanting to meet up with her tonight. A text to say you can't make it would suffice, just so she isn't hanging around waiting for you on her lonesome.
Better luck next time Deer

What kind of company would stick a 16 year old on the tills for 5 hours in a busy fast food joint on a Saturday on their very FIRST day at work?!
I'm absolutely fuming. My son who has never worked a till in his life was the only one at the tills and had to deal with queues of very rude abusive customers on his own. He has had no training or preparation for this at all. Talk about being thrown into the deep end. In 5 hours my son wasn't allowed a break so he hadn't even had a drink when I picked him up.

Honestly, I feel like marching into the place and ramming the stupid baseball cap that they get their employees to wear down the horrible Managers throat.

I don't know if I should persuade my son to go back on Monday or to not go in again? He doesn't really need the money (£4:35 per hour) but was just keen on gaining some work experience while he was at College
