Hi there,

I am a 24 year old living in the south west and I have had social anxiety all my life and some general anxiety. I have never had any professional help with my anxiety because I pretty much avoided getting any help when I was younger. More recently I have tried to get therapy through the NHS but it turns out I can't while in full time employment due to therapy being 1 day a week during working hours. I also wouldn't be able to afford to go private.

Other than the general day to day struggles of trying to communicate with people the worst part is being alone all of the time. Friends that I had online are now disappearing and ive lost contact with all of my real life friends and family apart from my parents.

It would be nice to just have a few friends that I could sometimes go to places with on the weekend so that I have something to look forward to. I think part of the problem is that I have little interest in most people, its quite difficult to find people that have the same interests as me.

I was considering going to the social anxiety group in Bristol to see if it would help but it is quite a distance from me. Even if i went once im not sure that I could keep going.
