^ ThanksĀ²

13 days so far although the first 6 were because I couldnt get down my stairs to the fridge but that is still included because when I did make it downstairs I found my nice friendly local mate had dropped off 12 cans of holsten pils for me out of pity. I still have them all, he is going to be blown away when I walk them back over to him.

Well done Xithium and Flumpster.

I've been doing a group cbt course called "positive me", it's been helpful and have met some nice people who want to stay in touch now it's over.
Normally I make excuses and run away but have swapped phone numbers with 2 of them and gained 5 facebook friends.
I'd probably be too scared to meet up with them out of the group but it's a first step.

Well done everyone some big wins there.

I went out today with next to no make up on and a sleeveless shirt, jacket. Big deal for me because I have a skin condition that is also on my arms and I'm sensitive about it.

Keep it bouncy is fine. It's not the best, it'll do though - well done

I finally got around to changing our internet service provider, no more being ripped off by BT at Ā£52 p/m!

I also cranked out an impressive amount of press-ups earlier, despite the heat. The 'guns' are starting to shape up now, i reckon a small child would struggle to get both hands around my upper arm!

I attended my very first yoga class last night. I went with my friend who told me she was starting classes so it wasn't quite as scary, don't think I'd have gone by myself! But despite my nerves and feeling slightly self-conscious trying to do some of the poses, I really enjoyed it! It's only a small class (there were 7 of us last night and apparently they don't usually get more than about 10 people) and the instructor was really nice and helpful. Feeling a bit achey today, esp my shoulders and lower legs, but that's to be expected I guess. Definitely gonna be going again!

Met someone at an anxiety and depression group last weekend and they invited me bouldering.

I went last night and it was really fun (if a little painful), that's fine, I can do activities like that with people because there is a focus on something other than me. But afterwards we went and sat somewhere and had a chat for like almost an hour! That's the kinda thing I usually dread...... but I actually enjoyed it and it wasn't awkward or anything!

I think I might have made a new friend

That's great, well done. I used to go to yoga class and enjoyed it but it takes time to get into the different poses. You'll notice a positive difference over time.

Over the past few months, I have:

-Gave up drinking completely
-Dropped two dress sizes
-Applied to college
-Basically recovered from SA? It might be too soon to say.
-Made some (sort of) friends
-Been invited to one of my son's nursery friends' birthday party, and accepted with no hesitation
-Gotten close with my new neighbours, and interact with the kids comfortably. In fact I find myself feeling worryingly maternal around them.

All of this has been overshadowed by a monumentally ****ed up situation, but I can't believe how far I've come in such a short space of time despite that.

There's a Jam on another forum I use, every time he posted I'd be like 'yay, Jam's posted', then remember it wasn't my favourite Jam and be really disappointed. That story sounded better inside my head.
