Do you like youself?
Do you like yourself?

Re: Do you like youself?
Nope, but I don't really like anyone so why should I be any different.

Re: Do you like youself?
I'm overrated TBH.
Seriously though, I don't really dislike myself, I'm just disappointed in myself a lot. |

I relate to some of the rest of what you posted, especially feeling awkward around children when you feel under pressure to be 'fun'. Children are the hardest people to be around if you have social anxiety problems. |

Re: Do you like youself?
Not really. I feel frustrated about the fact that I just seem to be tense around people and lack the ability to improvise humour in the way that comes easily to many people. I'm sick of my own company, with no friends or partner to spend time with.

Re: Do you like youself?
No. I think that this self hatred is at the core of most of my issues. I am trying to change but it is hard.
Lol I was told by a support worker a long time ago that he'd never met anyone that was as hard on themselves as me. |

Re: Do you like youself?
I like certain aspects of myself, and detest others which I feel is partly due to a lack of self confidence.
I've been lucky enough this week to be around someone who has helped me to see that I'm not all bad, and that striving for normality is a bit of a mugs game. I have spent years comparing myself to others and trying to make myself fit in and be normal but what actually is normal??? There are definitely some parts of me that require improvement and I realise that the person who is hardest on me is me. Maybe I should just accept that I am who I am and get on with it. |

Re: Do you like youself?
Well I don't hate myself like I did before and I feel like I'm more rational and reasonable towards myself now, so that is progress for sure. Although I've probably got a fair way to go still before I can get to a place where I can say I actually like myself.

Re: Do you like youself?
For some reason I feel uncomfortable saying I like myself. Maybe that's because I spent around 40 years deeply hating myself, though. These days I can say that I definitely accept myself and am glad I'm me. From the position I started at, that's pretty good progress. Still plenty of room for improvement of course, but isn't there always?

Re: Do you like youself?
I didnt up to the age of about ..20
Possibly related to numerous bullying, being made to feel like shit I clearly just went along with it and presumed if everyones saying it..the problem must lie with me.. Then I suppose I had some years during my 20's when I guess I came to accept myself, I hadn't been bullied in years (probably because I barely left the house till about 26) Now I'm 30, still no bullying however I've managed to loathe myself and dont know how to fix it at the moment. |

Re: Do you like youself?
It really depends on the day. Some days I just think that I'm the worst person possible and hate all my flaws. Other days I feel okay about who I am.

Yes. There was a time when I hated myself, but now I feel better about myself generally.

Re: Do you like youself?
It almost feels boastful to say this now I've read the rest of this thread....but I've always liked myself. My problem is more thinking that other people won't like me, than that I don't like me. I see myself as fundamentally different from others so I don't expect them to understand me. But I like who I am and wouldn't change anything.
I have my moments of hating parts of me, of course, but normally I'm having a go at myself for not being "better". It's not so much that I don't like who I am, it's that I think I'm adequate but have the potential to be so much more....if that makes sense? Does sound arrogant, really, though doesn't it? |

Re: Do you like youself?
Not really. I have somehow brainwashed myself into believing that any attempt to express myself makes me selfish, attention seeking and narcissistic, and I can't seem to rewire this belief.
