Al Jazari invented a flushing mechanism, but it was not used for toilets at the time. The modern flushing toilet was invented by John Harington, although many people improved on his design over the centuries that followed. That they were invented by Thomas Crapper is a popular myth, although he did come up with several improvements that have become standard (the ballcock, for example).

Why are regions on the equator not desert, but mostly tropical rainforest, despite being hotter than desert regions? I'd of thought the hotter the region the less water would be found there (I presume the closer the the equator the hotter right?)

It isn't that simple. Levels of rainfall are determined by complex factors involving the way air flows around the Earth's surface. An area can be very hot, but owing to the way damp air flows over it, it may still experience a lot of rainfall.

I would suggest the Latin quarter. Some good places to eat really cheaply, it is a bit of a minefield and there are some really, really bad places but it's pretty vibrant and has lots of young people around.

To be honest though, it's really easy to get around, so as long as you are around the centre it doesn't matter all that much imo.

Im looking at the city centre and seems to have places of interest scattered around. Shouldn't be that hard to get around via the Metro.

If you get a fever its not a bad thing apparently as its your body's way of fighting the infection by raising your body temp. Same as coughing as you are getting rid of the mucus etc. Not sure about the sweating out thing, I cant lye in bed all day and do nothing though.

You wouldn't need to be in bed all day! Have a few shots of whiskey, wear a hat, wrap up warm and just sleep for a couple of hours!

Odd question but when looking for flats i notice how some state the rent per week e.g 150pw and some per month 700pcm yet some of the per month results are lower in the list yet should be cheaper as its sorted highest to lowest. Am i missing something i.e a extra week in the month no one told me about or the site im on is shit.

If you can understand any of that you get a gold star.

^ oh when I look it up, everything seems to be in the right order

Are you sure you haven't clicked something that makes the results come up in a random order...?

Nope. For example on 1 page their is a property for 210 pw near the top and the rest below it are 900pcm. The page before it are all 950-900pcm.

Going by the per week figure is not really what you are paying each year as if you go by that you think you are paying 48 weeks worth rather than 52 weeks.
