Thanks, I can't believe it myself ! I have a full EU licence but have always felt intimidated by driving on the left. Since settling in the UK, I then became too scared to drive even when visiting back home for the holidays.

managed to feel pretty relaxed at work last night, couldnt help noticing how much easier it was to talk to people and so on. did have some good chats and stuff too as a result.

whenever something like this happens i like to try to really focus on it and blow it all up so it doesnt just instantly melt like a fleeting sugar cube in the vast hot americano ocean of bad experiences, its sweetness diluted into oblivion by bitterness and the sweaty haze of caffeine

got some particularly tabloid-esque gossip on an annoying customer, far too salacious for this prim institution however :0

Cool. How'd that go?

I've committed myself.... to hosting a family roast tomorrow!

Which basically means that i shan't be drinking much tonight - and that's the achievement!

Well I finally left the house this bank holiday weekend, so it's not a total write-off even though it's raining.
Going to a beer festival. Probably a bit strange to go to a beer festival on your own but I needed to do something...

I attended a different slimming group this evening, I went on my own and didn't need someone to hold my hand.

Today I signed up for a Beginner's Digital Photography course at my local Adult Education centre. I'm a bit scared about the whole meeting new people aspect of it but that is one of the reasons i want to do it.

Thanks guys.

Biscuits, it doesn't start till mid-January (there is another one starting later this month but it's already fully booked) and it lasts for 5 weeks. I just hope I don't get cold feet about it by then

Just asked my neighbour down the corridor to turn down the music he was playing at top volume at half four in the morning again. Now obviously can't sleep anyway due to worrying he thinks I'm a tit, how awkward it'll be next time I bump into him - things he clearly doesn't give a shit about!! Still I'm kind of proud for resisting the urge to just fume silently and plot elaborate revenge, especially as he had a group of friends around.

I went to an eve class tonight. I really felt this afternoon like not going. But made it in the end. It's an introduction to counselling course.

It is a bit challenging for an sa person, other courses I've done are a bit more academic and singular, this one is group interaction and pairing up with folk The closer it's got to the start date the less keen I was about it . I was even less keen when there was 36 people registering!! We did split into 2 groups and I sat on a table with 3 other ppl. Luckily the lady I paired up with is quite talkative and friendly. And the group exercise was ok as we'd all loosened up a bit. So I coped. It amazes me how confident some ppl are tho with total strangers. Were in a different room nxt week so I might be sitting with other ppl
Hopefully I can see it through to the end....

Well done healingsould and Mo34. That took a lot of courage.

Today I went shopping and got some much needed bits and pieces. I was only there for about an hour but felt exhausted when I got home!

I had a mini meltdown trying to change my own car battery yesterday morning and made a right balls up of it - i got it working luckily, but the connectors were loose as a goose and i fretted the whole time i was out delivering that they'd come loose. They didn't but when i started up this morning, the engine shaking to life knocked the positive connector loose - i vowed to myself that i would ask one of the many mechanics that i deliver to if they'd sure it up..... and i did ask, and it got fixed!

^ Well done mate. It's hard to ask stuff like that, in doing so admitting that you don't know something. Know that one well.

I had a interview for a temporary Christmas retail sales assistant job today. I was nervous as hell but i think i managed to hide it reasonably well (or at least i hope i did!) and i managed to maintain good eye contact, i didn't have any of those dreaded moments where your mind goes blank, and i think i gave some really good answers to the questions i was asked - the woman who interviewed me seemed genuinely impressed i think.

I feel it went pretty well overall and even if I'm not offered the job I'm just pleased i went and managed to get through it.

Well done citizen and healingsoul

Since school started again, I've been feeling more anxious and tired than usual. I could not muster enough courage to take my toddler to baby groups. However yesterday evening, out of the blue, the fog started to lift (maybe hormones?) And this morning I took him to his first toddler group since the start of the new term. I was a bit nervous while hanging there around other parents, but he enjoyed himself so much, most of the time I forgot about other people.
