Good documentary about Chris Benoit, and the tragic events that led to him killing his own family and himself.
Glad you liked it Raks1981. Yeah was pretty good. From Chris Jerichos own pod cast interviews and don't think it revealed anything new that I didnt know before apart from how deeply his friends death affected him and the allegations of abuse of Kevin Sullivan towards Nancy, Chris future wife who off course he would eventually murder.

Series continues with 4 more episodes including one on the murder accusation again Superfly Jimmy Snooka

Three Monkeys, 7 out of 10.
Unsettling but powerful drama that shows the impact one person's decision (in this case a powerful person) can escalate into a catastrophe
Interwoven story of politics, family poverty, class; lies and moral relativism. Challenging to watchin many ways but only because the film was so well done.

Been watching loads of old favourites. I had forgotten what a comfort it can be, especially in a crisis like this:

Get Carter 9/10. Still cool, shocking and brutal. Michael Caine is SO charismatic and believable. Apparently, he based his character on real gangsters he knew as a boy.

Zulu: 10/10. Love this film. Exactly the kind of thing we watched on a Sunday when I was a kid.

The Duellists: 9/10. A forgotten masterpiece, based on a short story by Joseph Conrad. Let down by the central character though, who is miscast.

Yep, 'Get Carter' is an excellent movie, probably Michael Caine's best performance. He was pretty good in the earlier 'Harry Palmer' movies too.

Shame he starred in so much dross in later years, and that he turned out to be such a Tory.. Oh well....

There was another great Zulu movie with Bob Hoskins and Peter O Toole...can’t think of the name.

Dr strangelove.
I'd give it a high rating as yeah it was good. I'd already seen most of the funny bits on random clips throughout the years though. The imdb facts were interesting.
I recognised james earl jones's voice halfway in, i was like.....mufasa?.. mufasa!!

Will be re watching young frankenstein at some point with popcorn which i would definitely recommend

Atomic Blonde 8/10.

This was right up my street. A spy thriller set in 1989 Cold War Berlin (and filmed in Berlin too). Great soundtrack. Storyline fairly easy to follow too and the film didn’t take itself too seriously. But it still felt more intelligent than your usual mainstream action film. I’m not a big fan of action films, but the action sequences in this were incredible I thought.
A great cast too I thought, with Charleze Theron in the lead role, with lots of British actors too. It’s always good to see Toby Jones!
Also proof that you can have a strong female lead without it being a rom-com.

Fitz carraldo - 8/10. Bit enigmatic at times but a pretty good watch. Klaus kinski is always watchable.

Is that the one, where they haul a ship over a muddy hill ?

Or is it the movie where they build the Opera House in the middle of the Amazon Jungle?

Cant remember whether those parts from 2 movies or the same one come to think of it, mind.

Like you say though, Kinski is always good to watch

If i hadn't seen Goodfellas is would have got a 8/10 but to me it felt like basically Goodfellas mark 2. Same narrative type, characters i.e Pesci a crazy violent thug and the same camera work and music as in Goodfellas.

Good Boys (2019) - 8/10

I thought this was great. It's kind of aimless and meandering, but there are lots of funny moments and it comes together well at the end. It's basically the plot of Superbad, Booksmart, etc, but with younger kids and somehow much more adult humour.

What we Left Behind: Looking back at DS9 8/10

Pretty good doc covering the legacy of DS9. Best part is when brainstorm and theoretical pilot for season 8 that sounds really good much better than Picard crap we now have.
